Screenwriter Etan Cohen expressed his thoughts about the 2016 political climate yesterday when he said that America is getting closer to reflecting the world he helped envision in the film Idiocracy.

When asked if this was truly a surprise to him, had this to say:

Cohen is not the only person involved in the film to express this view; Judge told The Verge in 2014 about constant fan messages he gets from those saying he predicted America’s future. Terry Crews, who played President Dwayne Elizondo Mountain Dew Herbert Camacho in the film, weighed in with similar thoughts last month as he briefly reprised his character.
