PayPal Co-Founder Peter Thiel Has Poured $2.6 Million Into Ron Paul Super PAC

Peter Thiel, co-founder of PayPal, has donated a total of $2.6 million to the super PAC supporting Ron Paul since December, when Endorse Liberty was founded.

The Silicon Valley investor and billionaire, as Politico reports, donated $1.7 million of that total in the month of January. According to documents filed with the Federal Election Commission, Thiel is the single largest contributor to Endorse Liberty.

Thiel’s conservatism and libertarian perspective is nothing new. In a recent Daily Beast piece, he noted his concern for America’s future and stated: “Everything else is being regulated to death…From a libertarian perspective, with regulation we have become a much more risk-averse society.”

PayPal co-founders Luke Nosek and Scott Banister have also donated to Endorse Liberty, albeit in significantly smaller amounts: $50,000 and $10,001, respectively, in January.

Paul supporters ain’t gonna like that Peter Thiel is a member of the  Bilderberg Group.

Step it up, thanks to Citizen United you can put as much money in Politics without limit or oversight.

    Excellent!

Hahaha so now PAC money is good money. Gotta love the pretzel logic.

I wonder if Paul accepts Bit coins.

But Ron Paul has overwhelming public support and doesn’t need a small number of incredibly wealthy people pumping millions into his campaign like the rest of the corrupt mainstream candidates… That’s what my libertarian friends keep telling me at least.

Well, now I need to close my PayPal account

I think I am gonna buy some stock in whatever company owns PayPal.  If Kelly Clarkson goes to number one on the charts because of a simple tweet about Paul then there are going to be a few million new PayPal customers tomorrow morning.

We know that Obama accepts coins of all kinds for his re-election effort.

  • Anonymous

I thought Obama didn’t believe in these things, but then I find out he has a PAC that will be doing the same thing. Plus he personally plans on spending $1 billion. Why not donate that money?

  • Anonymous

All that money – just to get a message out?  Or is it something else?  Ron, I know you are not in this race to win it, and your message has been heard and received rather well.  You make very good points.

But sir – we are at a precarious crossroads now – we have extreme candidates nipping away at the only candidate that can win this election – and that is Romney.

So I ask you – what is it you hope to achieve.  If it is mischief – stop it now – before you do real harm to this election.

I keep hearing people claim that Obama plans to spend that much but I’ve never seen any proof that he’s stated that is his aim, care to provide it? I’ve heard that he may raise that much, but it’s based on pure speculation from what I’ve found.

In the post citizens united world, everyone is using PACs that accept big donations, just amuses me that even Ron Paul is getting in on the act given how self righteous some of his supporters can be and how quick they are to call other candidates corrupt. He’s human after all.

I wonder after Ron Paul’s election whether we’re going back to the gold standard and how that will affect PayPal. The hysteria over Ron Paul is once again showing the utter stupidity and fantasy of the Paulista rightwingers. It’s like the people who swarmed around George Bush and actually voted for this idiot.Ron Paul is not an idiot but he would be an even bigger disaster than Bush, as he would basically deconstruct our government. Oh yes, he would try to keep us out of future wars and legalize marijuana – not the best trade off compared to sending the 99% of us to the poorhouse!  Oh yes, remind me to never use PayPal.

So you rake in money to not spend it? That makes no sense. The fact that he has to even raise any money tells you how bad his Presidency has been. He should be able to run on his record.

    He’s been campaigning forever.

I don’t see where I said he wouldn’t spend the money, I’m just asking where you got the figure of $1 billion from that you seem quite insistent that he plans to raise. Has the Obama campaign said that’s their plan? Have they said they’ve raised that much? I’m genuinely curious as the only place I see that number is on gossip sites and from republican posters here.

I am Ron Paul’s supported and see nothing wrong about Bilderberg Group. Why should not I like Peter Thiel for being its member?

  • Anonymous

     Yes, it has.

If Obama would not like people to donate to his campaign, he would tell people at the various stops to not donate to his campaign and instead donate it or help a neighbor. The $1 billion raised figure has been common knowledge forever. Why do you think he’s doing so many travel sessions around the US? He’s been to CA many times to raise money from his donors.

     COULD RAISE $1 BILLIONObama
amassed a record $750 million as he surged to victory in 2008. His 2012
campaign total is expected to hit $1 billion or more, even without a
major Democratic primary opponent or the emergence of a strong
    Republican contender.”It’s
definitely within reach, as he raised three quarters of a billion last
time. As the incumbent president it’s quite plausible to imagine him
raising $1 billion,” said CFI Executive Director Michael Malbin. It’s in reach, but it isn’t a stated aim and hasn’t happened yet according to that article. I do think a billion is a ridiculous amount to spend on an election and.that the money being spent by both sides would be a lot better used to help communities. The whole electoral process needs a dose of realism and an overhaul.

    No, it isn’t good money.

  • Anonymous

Yeah.  We know and it sucks just as much.  What’s your point?

i always wondered who our mole was.

  • http://pulse.yahoo.com/_2BJB2HWESE7CPCUTZIOM6ZUDFM jon

it’s hard to be a bigger disaster than Bush but obama is trying…. all he needs is 4 more years. i don’t see a lot of big differences between them anyway.  the left thinks if they give o 4 more years he will make right all his broken promises. hate to tell you but with nothing else left to lose he will totally screw the left. war war war!

Maybe bit coins are the answer to the FED.  Colonial Script worked before Ben outed us to the Rothschilds.  ; )

  • Dr. Dawn Lancaster

Except for the poll corruption, one wealthy person’s vote = one supporter vote.  They don’t let wealthy people vote more than once, so they set up ways to give money to organizations like ACORN, Planned Parenthood, etc. for them to distribute (reimburse) for donation. Yes, I know this is illegal, but Soros doesn’t care.

I was hoping someone might respond with that insight! An innovative currency that certainly has a future.

A bunch of rich powerful people meeting in secret to discuss policy that is by law the job of our elected officials?  I think that is against the law.  So anyways if this guy is an enemy giving to our side, Ron Paul.  Looks like we have our mole on the inside.  This changes nothing about Ron Paul.
