Jimmy Kimmel Defends Lena Dunham

Jimmy Kimmel is taking some heat on Twitter Monday after deliberately wading into the debate over passages from Lena Dunham’s new book Not That Kind of Girl: A Young Woman Tells You What She’s “Learned” that involve sexual exploration with her younger sister. Or as the National Review’s Kevin D. Williamson put it, “sexual abuse.”
Here’s what Kimmel had to say about the issue:
To suggest that a 7 yr-old girl is even capable of "molestation" is vile. #clickbaityourselvestohell xo @lenadunham

Later, he made this subtle reference to the blowback he was receiving from people who disagreed:
the great thing about twitter is you get to hear from SO many lovely people!

After Dunham went into a “rage spiral” over the criticism she was receiving from “right-wing” sites like National Review and others, her sister posted some tweets of her own, telling the media it wasn’t their job to decide what was “normal” for her family.
