Madonna Apologizes for Calling Her Son the ‘N-Word’ on Instagram
Madonna was forced to issue an apology to her more than 1 million Instagram followers Saturday after she posted a photo of her 13-year-old son Rocco Ritchie that included the hashtag #disn*gga (but without the asterisk). Along with the photo of her son boxing and the hashtag, the singer wrote, “No one messes with Dirty Soap! Mama said knock you out! #disnigga”

Shortly after, she deleted the comments and replaced it with “Ok let me start this again. #get off of my dick haters!” When that failed to mollify the backlash, Madonna posted another photo on Instagram of a slightly more sincere written apology:

As one comment on Madonna’s apology read, “Let’s not forget she has black children….while maybe people can have a problem with the use if the word, she’s certainly not racist.”
