Politico Consults Astrologers About Chelsea Clinton’s Daughter
Politico might need to consult a therapist.
The Beltway rag drew hackles last week for its musepiece about the political implications of naming Chelsea Clinton‘s daughter — clearly “Charlotte” was an attempt to boost Kay Hagan in the midterms — a post that actually received a followup explainer.
But that was the stuff of J-School dreams compared to this morning’s effort, in which Politico actually consulted multiple astrologers to see what the stars had in store for baby Charlotte.
But hey, maybe the astrologers had insight into okay never mind:
“[Charlotte] is a Libra geared towards relationships, getting along, diplomacy, judicial matters and good breeding. This little Libra will be geared towards service to others, to fighting for the underdog and for the rights of others.”
“Unlike most Libra’s who are social butterflies, we will not see her as superficial or casual. Charlotte is a deep thinker and will have very few friends that she lets get close to her.”
“Bill is a Leo and they’re going to have a really great relationship. I think with Hillary they’re going to have a very powerful, emotional and maybe spiritual connection, but with Bill it’s going to be a lot of fun. Leos and Libras love to celebrate and play together, those two signs really just like to have a good time. So I think she’ll be the perfect match for his playful side of his personality. I think she’ll be his little sidekick.”
“She really will be ‘Billary,’ because she is going to have his charm and likability and Hillary’s sort of focus and intensity and desire to make things happen, so it’s going to be an interesting combo.”

The best moment came when one astrologer momentarily realized that Charlotte’s familial wealth and connections will have more of an impact on her than her sign. The fourth wall was quickly repaired.
