#RapAlbumsThatCausedSlavery Takes Off on Twitter Thanks to Morning Joe
On Wednesday morning’s edition of Morning Joe, hosts Joe Scarborough and Mika Brzezinski, along with guest Bill Kristol, laid the blame on hip hop — and in particular rapper Wacka Flocka Flame — for driving University of Oklahoma SAE frat brothers to feel free to chant racist slurs on video.
And with that argument, the #RapAlbumsThatCausedSlavery hashtag was born.
The idea appears to have originated with Twitter user @fivefifths, who remarked:
"White people keep saying the n-word because of hip-hop!"
