Report: Huntsman’s Campaign Manager Resigns

According to published reports, Republican presidential candidate Jon Huntsman has lost his campaign manager, Susie Wiles, who resigned today. The resignation comes less than a month after the former Utah governor made his 2012 campaign official. As The New York TimesMichael Shear describes the announcement, “the departure of Ms. Wiles is the first serious sign of trouble since Mr. Huntsman returned from a two-year tour as President Obama’s ambassador to China to challenge his former boss.”

In a statement, the Huntsman campaign announced communications director Matt David will replace Wiles:

“Susie has served the campaign well and was vital in getting it off the ground in such a short time-frame,” John Weaver, a top political strategist for Mr. Huntsman, said in a statement provided by the campaign.

Shear reports sources in the campaign described tension between Weaver and Wiles:

Ms. Wiles reportedly clashed with Mr. Weaver during the past month as the campaign got under way, according to people familiar with the private interaction between the two aides.

Okay, I thought after being up for a full day I would come over and give the MSM and Democrat stalking horse a comment.

    There, I did it.

Whenever there is conflict between the
campaign manager and the top political strategist, it is because of lack of
    leadership from the candidate.  The
candidate should take full control over his own campaign.  Whenever there are conflicts, he should nip
it in the bud.  The campaign manager and
chief strategist are aids to the candidate, not string pullers.

When the candidate does not take charge of his
campaign, the aids will fight among themselves.
Any wise candidate would not allow himself/herself to be run by neither
the campaign manager nor the chief strategist.
The campaign chair should always be the boss of his/her own
campaign.  Never allow yourself to be a
puppet of the helping hands.  That is the
    same as Obama’s problems.
