Rick Santorum Wins Missouri And Minnesota

Sweater vest fever is sweeping across the Midwest! Rick Santorum has picked up 2 out of 3 states on Tuesday night. CNN has projected Rick Santorum has won Missouri and the winner in Minnesota as well. Colorado, at the moment, is still undecided.

NBC News reports the Santorum campaign is in good spirits: “Tonight’s victory should put to bed the idea that the Republican nomination for Mitt Romney is inevitable,” said Stuart Roy, adviser to a pro-Santorum super PAC.

It is unfortunate that Rick Santorum doesn’t tell the truth when addressing the people in Missouri and Minnesota, but I would imagine that I’m not the only one to identify his lie.
President Obama did NOT bail out the banks.   President BUSH bailed out the wall street banks.

  • Anonymous

Obama voted for the bailouts. Sorry, history disagrees with you once again.

Guess that Trump endorsement didn’t help Willard out all that much. Frothy Ricky, on the other hand, had the hilarity of Pat Boone behind him, which probably put him over the top.

  • Anonymous

Rick Santorum would have too, but he couldn’t even win re-election in his own state of Pennsylvania.  Lost by 18 points.
President Obama’s vote was only 1 of 100 – not the person signing the bill as indicated by Santorum.

i am dying to know how Rick Sanitarium is going to pay for his wars with Iran, Syria, and all those other “brown countries” that israel doesn’t like?  You heard it from middle America, they want their WW3!

  • Anonymous

Ain’t gonna happen. Santorum and his ilk have chosen to invent a boogieman Obama who doesn’t exist in order to get their pitchfork minions frightened and angry. So long as they keep alive their false narrative about the failed economy — ie, that the collapse began in January 2009 — they keep their hopes for the White House alive, too.

  • Anonymous

Which should make you ecstatic, considering your politics.

But Santorum’s loss was in 2006, a wave election for the Democrats under an unpopular Republican president.  2012 will be a similar wave election for the Republicans under an unpopular Democratic president.

  • Anonymous

Ha!  Gauleiter played the race card already.

News says Santorum can beat Obama by 1% Looks like this is the non-Romney.

playing the race card i guess is equivocal to suggesting that nations should fight their own wars… oh, and HOW ARE WE GOING TO PAY FOR IT WHEN WE HAVEN’T PAID FOR AFGHANISTAN OR IRAQ!

  • bob ross

I’m so happy your getting what you want.

  • Verreauxii

You are entitled to your own opinion, not your own facts!

Bush was polling in the mid-low 30′s during the 2006 election week.
    http://www.gallup.com/poll/116500/presidential-approval-ratings-george-bush.aspx

Obama is currently polling almost 15 points higher!
    http://www.realclearpolitics.com/epolls/other/president_obama_job_approval-1044.html

To equate the popularity/unpopularity of the two at those junctures is intellectual dishonesty. Republicans already had their wave. It was in 2010.

  • Verreauxii

No he will not. Santorum will basically show the public how crazy conservatism can be. Say bye bye Independents.

  • Anonymous

News?  What polling is that?  The REAL polls show Obama winning over Santorum by 9 points in a matchup.  http://www.realclearpolitics.com

Believe me when I say that this could even be more fun than a Obama vs. Romney.

    Obama wins again!

I presume he’ll pay for imaginary wars for which you’ve already credit him by taxing your imagination – or more probably by slashing discretionary spending out of your imaginary budgets.

I can’t believe the Wayne Newton endorsement didn’t help Bachmann more.

  • Anonymous

Ohhhh you’re totally right, slashing discretionary spending is going to cover the 4 trillion dollars that we wasted in those two countries we already are in.

And sanctions are an act of war you imbecile, why the hell did Japan attack Pearl Harbor, because we cut off all of their oil supply and crippled their economy by sanctioning them.  Lrn2history.

And you are a bigger fool if you think he only wants sanctions, he’s said repeatedly that we can’t allow Iran the bomb, starving peasants with sanctions won’t do a damn thing. Were you this oblivious in 2003 before we invaded Iraq?

Congratulations to Mr. Rick Santorum on his victory tonight.

    Santorum with Dead Baby Decorum

When it comes to this asshat Santorum
The best thing we can do is ignore ‘em
    Anyone who wants to comb
A dead baby’s hair at home
    Is seriously missing basic decorum!

In Congress he praised the coach at Penn State
‘Cause I guess he thinks pederasts are great.
He now denies that he knew him
    Yet he probably blew him
A kiss for keeping up the recruitment rate.

Santorum is a social issue contortionist
Who’s wife lived with a 40 year older abortionist
Whom she met at her birth!!
So for what it is worth
This punk is cigarette trade for neocon extortionists.

    Santorum’s just another neocon whore
Who loves to promote the zionist’s war.
    He’s a fundie whack job
    Who’s on Israel’s knob
And his corrupt record is a festering sore.

on September 24, 2008, Republican Party nominee for President, John McCain, and Democratic Party nominee for President, Barack Obama, issued a joint statement describing their shared view that “The effort to protect the American economy must not fail.”"

    and

“On February 10, 2009, the newly confirmed Secretary of the Treasury Timothy Geithner outlined his plan to use the $300 billion or so dollars remaining in the TARP funds. He mentioned that the U.S. Treasury and Federal Reserve wanted to help fund private investors to buy toxic assets from banks, but few details have yet been released.”

It would seem that not only did the president offer his support of the program, but outgoing president Bush had only spent a little over half of the fund, and the Obama administration spent the remaining $300 billion of the $700 billion fund…  So I am not so sure how you can claim that the president’s hands are clean on this issue.

Santorum would get so crushed it wouldn’t even be funny. It would be a 50 state sweep. You guys are so delusional.

  • bob ross

I’m not force feeding anything to anyone, you found a better poll, buy it.

  • Anonymous

You are wrong and obviously posted without confirming any of the information that you are posting see my response to your first post above…  Obama had his hands all in it almost as much as Bush did.

  • Anonymous

I am not sure that you will have to wait for an election before you see WWIII. President Obama is winning no friends in those “brown countries” that you speak of. He is killing innocent civilians daily with his drone attacks, it is estimated that his kill rate of innocents to bad guys may be as high as 15 to 1.

I am just interested in what is going to happen over here on this side of the globe when the war starts…  there is going to be plenty of stuff happening right here in our own back yard.

  • Anonymous

Hey, I am no fan of Rick Santorum, but you under estimate how many people are fed-up with Obama…  they may like him and his image, but many absolutely abhor his politics and programs.

  • Pablo

Bush did some of it. Obama did the rest.

President-elect Barack Obama told Democratic senators in a closed lunch
today that he needs the second $350 billion authorized by Congress as
part of the TARP legislation last year and that he’ll veto any move by
Congress to cut that funding off.

    http://abcnews.go.com/Politics/Economy/story?id=6638175&page=1#.TzIHgMhCjKc

And there you have the truth. Oh, and Senator/Candidate Obama voted for the whole mess.

  • Anonymous

Well nominate him then. He would get slaughtered he wouldn’t even win his own state. Actually nominate any of them its going to be a bloodbath for the republicans. But its cool keep hope alive:)

  • Pablo

Bush wasn’t running in the 2006 election. Nor in the 2008 election.

You and your lying true facts!!!!

  • Pablo

     Tell it to Libya.

  • Pablo

That’s awesome! Except that he never says anything about invading Iran.

    Fail.

Why do you people lie so much? Why do you link things that don’t say what you claim they say? Why does the truth not work for you?

  • Pablo

Where do you get that $4 trillion number? Iraq cost us less than ONE of Obama’s deficits. You lie.

  • Pablo

Say goodbye to the Catholics first, k?

  • bob ross

Delusional? Dude I’m a liberal! Oh, Never mind.
Seriously, I was just commenting on what a talking head said on the news tonight, that conservatives are still looking for a non-Romney.
Polls don’t mean a thing this far from the elections and really, who’s going to vote for Rick “burn the non-believers” Santorum for president anyway?

  • Anonymous

Pennsylvania has a huge catholic population Pablo and they booted this guy out on his ass.

  • Anonymous

lol sorry:) Beats me who would vote for Santorum. I think he might pull 20% in a general. I think the republicans are in a huge tug of war at the moment. The whole party is bi-polar.

  • Verreauxii

Pablo. I was comparing the election environment! He brought it up by using 2006 as an example. Bush being very unpopular reflects how people will feel about his fellow Republicans in congress. His not running for election is irrelevant.

No, we’ll be seeing a Democratic wave against the unpopular Tea Party Congress and in support of a popular Democratic president.

  • Anonymous

Since we’re in imaginary land, I suppose he can cut out all discretionary spending, do away with the Departments of Education, Energy, end the Fed, close bases in Germany and so forth.  He can do these things because he has the power of the purse in this world and is closer to the candidate I want.  Hell.  I just imagined Santorum resurrected Reagan and won with him on the ticket as VP and then resigned the first day.  Good times.

Meanwhile, sanctions are as much an act of war as are taking hostages, underwriting terror and materially supporting insurgents in sovereign states, all of which Iran has done within the last year, all as it heads breakneck speed towards nuclear capability and regional domination of states on which we very much rely to sustain our way of life.  But that doesn’t matter to you, I presume.

I presume that he’ll be more aware of Iran as a strategic opponent, which it is, than would Ron Paul, or Obama.  But then that doesn’t automatically translate into war, does it?

  • Anonymous

They are saying turnout is horrible. The republicans are falling apart. Looks like Colarado is going to Ricky as well

  • http://pulse.yahoo.com/_34VQ3NDNOFFUF6R7ALXY6O33S4 Cal

Your own link says that Santorum thinks we’re already at war with Iran, and that he “hopes” it was the US who assassinated a bunch of Iranian scientists (which would be an act of war). I think it’s very clear that if he were president (which he fortunately will never be), he would almost immediately order attacks against Iran. Possibly even a ground invasion, as disastrous as that would be.

  • Anonymous

What kind of stupidity is that, Obama could have chosen to not finish the program, just the fact that Bush was spending the money piece meal is an indication that there was some hope that not all the funds would be used…  As I recall there was much stink made about the Obama administration forcing banks to take tarp funds that they did not want!

  • Verreauxii

Yup…just means more prolonged primary. Now, Gingrich has no legs to stand on in arguing for a Santorum drop out.

  • Anonymous

I’m glad that you understand how it was that we entered WWII, because this is exactly what the president and European communities are currently doing with Iran by embargoing all of their oil exports, and then with our president freezing all their assets in this country this week…

  • Anonymous

Only fools think sanctions and assassinations aren’t acts of war, we’re lucky as Americans never to have been treated the way we treat other nations.

I have to mention our overthrow of the peaceful democratically elected Iranian leader Mosaddegh who only wanted Iranians to be in control of Iranian oil. But the CIA wouldn’t have that, so we gave the Iranians one of the worst dictators the Middle East has ever seen (the Shah).
The problem with Paleoconservatarian is that he (or she) has zero understanding of history. The Iranian Revolution was caused by our actions.

  • http://profile.yahoo.com/CIBUUIK5MWMY3SJY4EU4NG7UDM Adam J

Very true sir…. If you notice, this is what they do. In 2004 it was a boogie man in the form of Al Quada that was gonna come get us again. 2008, it was Barack HUSSEIN Obama, and he was a catholic muslim socialist illegal immagrant from Hawaii. 2012 It’s now Obama, the guy that wasted tax dollars saving the Auto Industry, and total destroying the Economy… Only problem is, the Stock Market is higher than it’s been since 2004, the Nasdaq is closing at record highs, The banks are now being held accountable, and the insurance companies can no longer play god. Seems to me that he IS the boogie man if you are a 1%er. To the rest of us, he’s doing the right thing.

  • http://profile.yahoo.com/CIBUUIK5MWMY3SJY4EU4NG7UDM Adam J

Well, by going by your assumptions, then all the candidates right now are not clean to whats been going on in the economy for the past 4 years either. First off, he was a candidate. He didn’t sign his name to the Tarp Funds bill. Secondly, the funds were already appropreated, but Governor Bush didn’t have enough time to get his buddies the money. You guys will find ANYTHING to try and discredit the President. Why won’t you work with us on the Left to better the country? Why is it such a bad thing? Maybe because the simple truth is the Right doesn’t like him because he is a black man. And if you conceed that 1 black man managed to be a succesfull President, you’ll have 100 black men getting in line to do the same thing. The white right can’t have that now can they?

  • http://profile.yahoo.com/CIBUUIK5MWMY3SJY4EU4NG7UDM Adam J

Yes he did. He also turned down the XL pipeline, which is gonna cost us like 2 billion full time permanant jobs, and would have made gas free in the US and it would have ended world hunger and would have brought on world peace. You guys should just spin that one too.

  • http://profile.yahoo.com/CIBUUIK5MWMY3SJY4EU4NG7UDM Adam J

Cal, these white right conservatives don’t understand that. See, they give the President, well Obama at least, this unfathomable amount of power. They think that Obama has the right to disband laws, kill the constitution, call companies and make them hire people, physically walk people to the welfare line. They don’t understand that there is this thing called Congress and the House of Representatives…….They forget that little diddy.

  • http://profile.yahoo.com/CIBUUIK5MWMY3SJY4EU4NG7UDM Adam J

Well, I have to ask, since your chucking the race card accusation out there, why is it that the CPAC has board and panel members that are KNOWN associates and leaders of White Supremest groups? Why is it that Newt Gingrich has made racist statments, and it goes un challenged by your own party? Why is it that Uncle Mittens can make comments about poor people, and it’s unchallenged by your own paty? Why is it that Santorum can make racist comments and it goes unchecked by your own party? Why is it that Ron Paul can have his name associated with newsletters that payed him royalties for 20 some years that were spilling racist opinions, and it goes unchecked by your party?  Seems to me the “conservatives” play the race card fast and often. If you want a race card, or what us on the left call fact, here goes.

The GOP and Teabaggers dislike Obama and obstruct him because if a black man is elected President, fixes the disaster that a southern white man creates, and does it in a humanitarian fasion, he would be one of the greatest Presidents of all time. If that were to happen, you would then have 100 black men lining up to try and achieve greatness.

It’s evident that the White Right can’t have that. Thier control over the minority is slipping away, and they feel threatened by this. So, what do they do? Do they just accept that times are changing, and do whats best for the Nation? No. What you do is try to distort EVERY thing and I mean EVERY item he creates or does, to try and discredit a black man. This way you never have to worry about a black guy running again for a long while, because the chief attack will be, “well look what Obama did, see what happens when a black guy is president”.
That my friend is a race card. The sad simple truth is however, it’s the exact truth and reasoning of the White Right.
