Roman Polanski Better Hope Cokie Roberts Doesn’t Own A Gun

romanpolanskiwantedanddesir-760092The Internet is making journalist objectivity tricky business these days! First President Obama was caught on Twitter (and camera) calling Kanye West a jackass, then WaPo issued Twitter guidelines amidst fears that any opinion may inadvertently be expressed, and now Cokie Roberts has been caught on camera advocating the death penalty for Roman Polanski.

Viewers of This Week With George Stephnopolous will be familiar with the ‘Green Room’ spot that is available on the web once the show ends. This week talk turned to Polanski, and Roberts opined on what she felt would be a fair sentence (1:40 mark). Someone should have asked her what to do about Dave!

“He raped and drugged and raped and sodomized a child. And then was a fugitive from justice. As far as I’m concerned, just take him out and shoot him.”

Forget about that whole legal process thing…tell us how you really feel!

Good for Cokie! About time someone expressed an honest, non-lawyered opinion.

Cokie is dead-on, and Katrina comes off looking like yet another asinine apologist (joining the ranks of Whoopie Goldberg and Debra Winger). Occasionally there are issues about which there can be no logical debate because there are still moral absolutes. You can argue the obvious, that this lecherous man anally raped a 13-year-old girl, or you can try to excuse the inexcusable. I think Polanski deserves to be in prison for the rest of his life. However, my gut reaction, like Cokie’s, is that I wouldn’t mind one bit if someone took justice into their own hands.

The bigger question: Why are Cokie and Katrina dressed in MENS SUITS?! All they need is a button-down and a tie.

Cokie Roberts’ response was refreshingly honest, she only verbalized what many people are thinking. Maybe Katrina should send her daughter to spend some “quality” time with Polanski.

Matthew Dowd and George Wills were right on the money about the sleazy Hollyweird community’s view of Polanski’s crime. They always make excuses for the criminal behavior of the members of their clique, that is why none of them deserves to be admired or respected. You can’t take anything Hollywood says seriously because most of them are drug addicts, alcoholics, or a combination of the two and the rest of them have serious mental problems. There are very few decent people among that bunch.

Letterman is lucky he is rich otherwise he would never get laid!

Wait a minute! Why does Katrina mention that documentary? Am I the only person that saw the prosecutor being interviewed on CNN, talking about how HE LIED in that documentary? Well, judging by CNN’s ratings, I probably was the only that saw the interview. Marina Zenovich, the documentary’s director, said in a statement, “I am astonished that he has now changed his story, it is a sad day for documentary filmmakers when something like this happens.”
I think we are done with this documentary.

@Ben Linus, I saw the interview. Did you notice how angry Wolf was with former D.A.Wells? CNN is obviously supporting Polanski because both Wolf and Anderson seemed angry that because Wells lied Polanski’s case might now be compromised and he might end up going to jail. I would have expected this from celebrity hound Anderson, but I was suprised that Wolf would take sides in favor of a scumbag pedophile like Polanski.

Hollywood lost any sense of morality a long, long time ago. Polanski is a creep and should be returned to the United States to serve life in prison. Cokie Roberts is absolutely right. I don’t know who Katrina is but she does not sound like anyone I would want to know. I have three daughters and if Polanski touched any one of them he would not be safe anywhere.
