Rush Limbaugh Accuses The Associated Press Of Playing Defense For Obama On Gitmo
Many of the Left are furious with President Obama’s to renew trials at Guantanamo Bay, a clear sign that he’s not, as promised, closing the prison. Everyone’s looking for an explanation and, as Rush Limbaugh pointed out, the Associated Press has one. He’s accusing them of laying the blame on “Republican Congress members” in this article. As for Limbaugh himself, he has his own explanation. He explained today that he thinks the White House is keeping Gitmo open because “they’re going to need a place to put all of us.”
Here’s the bit in the AP article, entitled “Obama restarts Guantanamo trials,” that has Limbaugh riled up:
“Obama made the change with clear reluctance, bowing to the reality that Congress’ vehement opposition to trying detainees on U.S. soil leaves them nowhere else to go. The president emphasized his preference for trials in federal civilian courts, and his administration blamed congressional meddling for closing off that avenue.”
Limbaugh pointed out that there was no AP article blaming Congress when President H. W. Bush broke his campaign promises. Only one now for our, as he called it, “poor, man-child President.”
