San Diego Mayor Bob Filner Resigns From Office

San Diego mayor Bob Filner has finally decided to resign from office after a slew of allegations made by over a dozen women about his inappropriate behavior. Initially Filner dismissed calls for his resignation, simply stating he would instead seek “behavioral counseling.” The level of outrage, however, got to the point where the Democratic National Committee planned a vote this week on whether or not to formally call for his resignation.

Filner’s resignation will be official on August 30th, which was settled upon through the terms of a deal worked out between Filner and the San Diego City Council. The exact terms of the deal are unknown.
