The Jinx Filmmakers Pull Out of Interviews, Citing Pending Durst Trial
The subject of HBO docuseries The Jinx, Robert Durst, was arrested in New Orleans Saturday night on the eve of the series’ finale in connection with a murder investigation (though the LAPD denies a connection to the series). Director Andrew Jarecki did interviews with GMA, CBS This Morning, and The New York Times, that last one along with fellow producer Marc Smerling. But the two men have now bowed out of future interviews.
Jarecki was scheduled to be on The Tonight Show later today, and both he and Smerling were set to appear on Chris Hayes‘s MSNBC show All In today too, but both Jimmy Fallon and Hayes tweeted those are no longer happening:
Bad news. Jarecki can’t make it. But we still have too much of a good show tonight. Jim Parsons, Miles Teller and Wiz Khalifaaaa!

So Andrew Jarecki and Marc Smerling have cancelled their interview w us tonight. Apparently they've cancelled all further media appearances

Which is odd, to say the least… #inners

And BuzzFeed’s Kate Aurthur tweeted out this statement saying that Jarecki and Smerling will not be available for any further interviews, pending a trial for Durst:
