The Latest Target of Twitter Satire is the Israel Flotilla Raid
Not long after BP’s fake Twitter account (@BPGlobalPR) provided necessary comic relief amid the disasterous oil spill, another satirical Twitter account has hit the web. This time provoked by the Israel flotilla incident. While the situation in Gaza is, indeed, a serious one, the @IsraelGlobalPR Twitter’s sharp comments do have a sense of humor (albeit, a dark one).
In its inaugural tweet, the fake spokesperson stated:
“Regarding the Gaza flotilla incident, please rest assured that we will not be suffering the consequences of our actions.”
Other tweets include:
“Guys, ‘strongly condemn’ and ‘deeply regret’ seem a bit harsh, perhaps you mean ‘fully support Israel’s actions’”
“At least our Top Kill was successful, @BPGlobalPR“
“Remember what happened to your school in Gaza, @UN? That inquiry sure hurt us.”
Satiric Twitter feeds are apparently the new late-night monologues.
