Trump Campaign Bars BuzzFeed Reporter From Covering Campaign Event
An aide to Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump barred Buzzfeed White House reporter Evan McMorris-Santoro from a campaign event in Newton, Iowa today. In a series of tweets, McMorris-Santoro said when the Trump campaign ignored his requests for media credentials he decided to “come out to Iowa to check things out.” At the press table, staffers called the Trump campaign to see if McMorris-Santoro could cover the rally.
“10 min. later, the answer: no,” he tweeted. McMorris-Santoro said he was also denied entry as a citizen and was told “not to enter” the event:
Welp, I’m adding “barred from Donald Trump town hall in Newton Iowa” to the ol list of career accomplishments. (1/some)

I asked the Trump camp for credentials several days ago. Never heard back. So I came out to Iowa to check things out. (2)

At press table, Trump aide looked at my WH and Hill creds, called Trump camp to see if I could be let in. 10 min later, the answer: no. (3) — E McMorris-Santoro (@EvanMcSan) November 19, 2015
I asked if I could just go in as a citizen (I had been checked out by the secret sve already) and was told no again. I was not to enter. (4) — E McMorris-Santoro (@EvanMcSan) November 19, 2015
And so I left. Now I’m in Newton IA hanging out. Summary: barred from a Trump event is off the bucket list. (Fin)
