Twitter Reacts to Dick Cheney Bust Reveal As Only Twitter Can
A marble bust of former vice president Dick Cheney was revealed at the U.S. Capitol on Thursday. Naturally, the unveiling encouraged the Internet’s reaction machine to offer its best jokes, worst criticisms and weirdest comments.
“Every now and then, even in the distant future, someone will surely wander by the old Cheney bust, and even stop for a moment or two, trying to recollect something of the man and the era,” the guest of honor told those in attendance. “I would want them to know this much, at least: Here was a believer in America, so fortunate in his life experiences, so blessed in his friends and so grateful all his days to have served as vice president of the United States of America.”
Former president George W. Bush also delivered remarks, and Speaker of the House Paul Ryan, Sen. Roy Blunt (R-MO), former British Prime Minister Tony Blair and former adviser Scooter Libby were in attendance.
Reporters covering the bust’s unveiling and the rest of the Internet took to Twitter.
