Tuesday, a piece in The Washington Examiner quoting Democratic National Committee Chair Rep. Wasserman Schultz has since denied ever saying that quote, but the audio of that comment has since surfaced and exposed Wasserman Schultz’s false denials.
Speaking to a group of Jewish Democrats in Charlotte on Monday, Rep. Wasserman Schultz was quoted saying, “We know, and I’ve heard no less than Ambassador Michael Oren say this, that what the Republicans are doing is dangerous for Israel.”
Appearing on Fox News Channel on Tuesday night, anchor Shepard Smith confronted Wasserman Shultz with the quote. She denied that she ever said that and told Smith that she was intentionally misquoted by a conservative news outlet.
“Unfortunately, that comment was reported by a conservative newspaper. Not surprising that they would deliberately misquote me,” said Wasserman Schultz.
The audio of her speech before that gather of Jewish Democrats has since surfaced and shows that Wasserman Schultz was accurately quoted by The Washington Examiner.
