Jackass Stars Release Memorial Video For Fallen Friend Ryan Dunn

Ryan-Dunn-316x168 video

It’s true, not many memorial videos open with a clip of the recently deceased being slapped in the face by a giant mechanical hand. However, what else would be more appropriate in a video celebrating the life of Jackass star Ryan Dunn who died last week in a tragic car accident? And, sure, while the video may show a lot of clips of Dunn getting punched, kicked, and rocket launched into a hard mound of dirt, it also shows tons of footage of a young man smiling, laughing, and doing something (however stupid) that brought joy to tons of people.

Washington Post Issues Twitter Guidelines: Signing Their Own Death Sentence?

Yesterday, the Washington Post issued Twitter guidelines for employees of the paper. The new rules are actually pretty reasonable: When publishing in any media using your byline, remain impartial. And don’t do anything stupid. But is demanding impartiality in the social media world really in the best interests of the paper?

How Rude! President Obama’s Favorite Four-Letter Word To Describe The Media

Did President Obama’s Sunday media blitz make a difference? It’s hard to tell, though the headlines would suggest that the takeaway thus far seems to be split between issues of race and Obama’s ability to manage the media. So what if anything did this uber media savvy President have to say about the press is spends so much of his time courting? Mostly that the media loves rude. And he said it a lot.

Video Of Obama’s “Jackass” Comment Removed By Politico, Saved By CNN

updated

Earlier today Politico has nabbed the video of President Obama‘s now infamous “jackass” remark. And then quickly removed it because “it was more respectful news-gathering operation” they tell us.

However! CNN apparently has no such qualms, and aired the video themselves. Watch it here. It’s a fairly jolly scene!

Will A Twitter Report Of Obama Calling Kanye A ‘Jackass’ OTR Ruin Twitter?

President Obama had an outburst last night! Sort of. Alas, it was less Kanye-style than actually about Kanye West — the President was quoted on Twitter referring to him as a “jackass” — but it’s still a headline dominator this morning. Also, it was supposed to be off the record. However, thanks to the beauty of Twitter we all get to enjoy the unedited Obama. But will this mark the end of unedited Twittering for jounos everywhere?

Thin-Skinned Olbermann Lashes Out, Predictably, at LA Times

Steve Krakauer wondered, Friday, if the LA Times would make Countdown’s “Worst Persons” list for mixing Keith Olbermann’s newscast up with MTV’s “Jackass” in its TV listings. Sure enough, it did. In the number 3 spot, Olbermann went off on a long, mean-spirited rant to counter what he imagined to be an insult to his audience size.
