Anthony Weiner Shares His Media Tips At The Congressional Correspondent’s Dinner

Say what you will Anthony Weiner, but it’s undeniable that the man has quite a sense of humor. This is, after all, a person who made his awkward high school yearbook picture his Twitter avatar. Weiner was able to show off his comedic ability – while giving some on-point media advice – at the Congressional Correspondent’s Dinner, which was broadcast last night on C-SPAN 3, much to the delights of “tens of viewers.”

Highlights include a pretty biting quip about CNN’s ratings, some very nice and surprisingly work safe hot dog-related puns, and a joke about the interesting pronunciation of John Boehner‘s name. And please don’t miss his Michele Bachmann joke… although it’s not as if there’s a lot of love lost between these two, if their recent joint appearance on Sean Hannity‘s show is anything to go by.

Weiner also has a few tips on how to become a savvy Twitterer – perhaps even one of Time magazine’s most recommended. For one, it helps to have oneself confused with other famous faces – like a certain Glee castmember.

In any case, here are Weiner’s media tips for his colleagues:

  • Listen carefully to your interviewer. Or else yelling may ensue. Like, say, what happened when Weiner and Megyn Kelly locked horns on her show. Or that time he asked Mike Huckabee how much he makes at Fox News. Or, again, that truly stellar Hannity interview.
  • Maintain eye contact with your interviewer.
  • Be sarcastic. Always remember to congratulate your interviewer on a job well done.
  • Enjoy:
