CBS’ Pelley Asks Hillary ‘Have You Always Told the Truth?’

Things got a little awkward on CBS Evening News tonight when Scott Pelley asked Hillary Clinton about honesty.

After Clinton said she has “tried in every way I know how” to level with people, Pelley asked, “Have you always told the truth?”

She said, “I’ve always tried to, always. Always.”

Pelley pushed back, “Some people are gonna call that wiggle room that you just gave yourself.”

Clinton, slightly incredulously, responded, “I don’t believe I ever have! I don’t believe I ever have, I don’t believe I ever will.”
