Don Imus Rips Into Rick Santorum, Calls Him ‘A Wretched Individual’

VIDEO

Don Imus lit in to GOP frontrunner Rick Santorum during his Fox Business Network broadcast today, saying he has first-hand knowledge of how bad a person Santorum is thanks to his wife’s experience working on an anti-autism bill with him while Santorum was a Pennsylvania Senator.

After playing a pre-recorded clip of Mitt Romney and telling it to “shut up,” Imus said that someone should rope off the GOP candidates, “and charge admission to let kids come in and pet them.”

Imus then said that President Obama — who he doesn’t intend to vote for, either — wasn’t necessarily doing a good job, he was just lucky. Which led him to Santorum.

“Rick Santorum is just one of the phoniest… ugh… just a wretched individual!” Imus said. “I know that first hand, from when Dierdre worked on him with that Combating Autism bill. Everybody’s expendable. [They'll] say and do anything.”

Imus didn’t expand on what happened between his wife and Santorum, but the website SantorumExposed.com has an Imus clip from 2006, where Imus’ wife, Deirdre, says that Santorum’s communications director wanted her to write an op-ed piece in a Pennsylvania newspaper, praising the work Santorum did on the Combating Autism Act.

Didn’t he say the same thing about Newt? I guess he believes everyone is a wretched individual except himself. He is some kind of ugly mofo in more ways than one.

” Imus said that someone should rope off the GOP candidates, “and charge admission to let kids come in and pet them.””

No responsible parent would let their kids near these folks.

THIS MAKE FROTH VERY ANGRY!!!!!! >:(

WHAT DOES “WRETCHED” MEAN? FROTH NO LIKE BIG WORDS :(

“Fist-hand knowledge” of Santorum?!! Good God, spare me the details!!

I have to protest the gratuitous use of “anti” lately.  No one is for autism, there are not pro autism crowds out there lobbying against the bill.

Just a peeve I’ve noticed lately.

Imus just hates everyone. I hope when I’m 200 years old, I’m not as bitter as he is.

Very unusual for the I-man to badmouth anybody.

Do they poll LIBERALS to see if they are satisfied with the GOP Candidate field?

I, for one, am VERY satisfied.

I’m surprised that Imus would call for the firing of the ESPN guy (I don’t know his name) after he was fired for saying offensive and racist things.  Imus is an opportunist

Anyway, this CAA bill thing is interesting, despite the fact that Imus obscures any impact it might have with his incoherent ramblings.  I did find another clip from the show, form Valentines Day, where he calls Santorum “an evil person” and suggests that he was locked in with BigPharma and therefore told Imus’ wife, who Santorum was working with on the bill, to stop talking about vaccines causing autism.

also, I just wanted to apologize for having to link that site, it looks like a pretty pervy place!

It’s over for Rick once his record gets examined.

In 2006, Rick got tossed like a bum
A premonition of things yet to come
    ‘Cause once voters vet him
    They always regret him…
No more hot, frothy, surging Santorum!

More on Santorum’s hypocrisy.  He criticizes Romney for Olympics money.  Guess who voted for it!

well maybe there are and maybe there aint, the link to a cause of autism in the MMR vaccine is getting a fresh look because of parents delaying the shot until their kids are older than 5-6 has shown a reduction in autism in the cluster areas where this has happened and some pharmaceutical companies are considering delaying the use of the vaccine till kids are more firmly developed, what ever firmly means I guess they mean fully but feel firmly lets them avoid implying some kids develop physically faster than others and that it may affect the way the body reacts to the MMR shots, something that they have resisted while defending the vaccine as safe at the age they recommended and this lets them walk it back without admitting a previous argument may have been partially defective, as an argument..

the trouble with most santorum voters know nothing about him…they are not the ripest peaches in the basket…his 50′s sweaters and wanting woman to sit in a corner with their legs open will not get him elected…His constituents in Pa.new better and threw him the hell out of Congress by a wide margin….

Imus says Rick a “wretched man”.  I’ll second that – and toss in a zealot, mad man, idiot, and delusional.  Saying Santorum is a “wretched man” was being kind.

” “Rick Santorum is just one of the phoniest… ugh… just a wretched individual!” ”

Barack Obama is just one of the phoniest… ugh… just a wretched individual!

    There….fixed it for you Don!!

  • News Of The World

    “Wretched” is an appropriate adjective.

  • Hout Bosques

Imus isn’t saying that HE isn’t “wretched” as well. And of course he is: he & his wife are believers in ‘autism from innoculations’, as wretched a piece of ignorant nonsense one can imagine.

  • OSTL

     ANOTHER account? WOW!

  • OSTL

Amusing watching the “progressives” take his word as Gospel. ;)

  • Anonymous

Coming from Don, Santorum should take it as a compliment. With regard to wretched, all the I man has to do is look in the mirror.

  • Anonymous

    Whatever makes you feel better.

Doesn’t really address the issue in his post though.

  • Anonymous

Without inoculations you seriously don’t know what you may pick up.

Another Pot and Kettle War,there seems to be a recurrent theme here in the GOP.

Here is Santorum’s downfall in the general election:
He’s way too caught up in the highly,RINO,neocon, propagandized, way-overblown, Islamic, south-central-American-commie threat, lying-fear-mongering-obsession.  His hatred for women’s freedom and independence is obvious to any one without an R behind his name. The DNC will make him a close spiritual associate of Ted Bundy.
Santorum won’t win his home state, and if you don’t win your home state, you generally do not win the election. He’s a whiner and is all around a creepy little punk.

  • Anonymous

    ????

  • Anonymous

Mediaite, have you tried to contact the Santorum campaign?  I imagine they’ll just try to ignore it, but Imus’ comments are extremely harsh.  Calling someone an “evil person” generally requires pretty good reasons.  At the least, you might get an amusing sound byte from Santorum slamming Imus

  • Pablo

He says the same thing about pretty much everyone, and pretty much everyone says it about him.

  • http://pulse.yahoo.com/_6KRU2XBW2DA24T3GPNPUD34QQ4 dougster

He said Newt was “skunk vomit.” The fact that that’s true doesn’t make his statement about Santorum any less true.

  • Чёрт Возьми

     Good one!

  • Чёрт Возьми

He got it right. Imus doesn’t like anybody.

I looked up the Combating Autism Act, and I see it is an example of inserting the Federal Government into a Personal Health Care issue. I think it is a good thing, but it goes against everything the current crop of conservatives, especially Rick Santorum, stands for. It calls for spending and creates a bureaucracy on a single special health issue.

I especially “like” the use of “Combating” in the title of the act. Everything is war and combat to a chicken-hawk.

Don, you’re a long way’s from Idi Amin’s Bowling Alley!

It’s time to pass the mantle and head to the Dog Track.

btw) You’ve alway’s been a good, straight-up guy Don, your whole crew, including your brother.
Stern and Tawana were clearly the villains in your tete-a-tete’s.

Uhhhh, Donnie boy, you are not only a racist and bigot but, also one of the phoniest… ugh…wretched individual’s on the planet, yourself. Yeah I know you have the ranch for kids out in New Mexico, but, you never do anything. It was always your late brother and your wife and big corporations who bought the vehicles and other assets and amenities for the ranch. You just sit there on your LOW rated radio show spewing hatred towards one and all everyday, so I say to you … Go to hell, Imus.

  • Anonymous

Nah, look at all Obumbler got away with. Hanging out with commie terrorists who tried to blow up the Pentagon, hanging for 20+ years with an Islamic Iman who tried to pass himself off as a Christian preacher, hanging with all the crooks in the Obammer administration starting with David Axlerod, Valerie Jarret, and Robert Gibbs to name 3.

So there is no reason Santorum can’t get elected seeing as how OBUMmer can’t get over 45% favorable ratings.

Imus’ comments are stupid, your critique is also.

Why you have to bash some woman and her looks is beyond me.  Stay on point or stay off the computer.

    Who cares?  You seem to.

Yeah, that’s what’s important here — how liberals respond, eh ;-)

Can you live any more derivatively, OSTL?

Seriously.  Trying to eat lunch here.

Remind me again who Don Imus is.

OkieDokieStupidSmokie……You’re so full of it. What an immature and ignorant post.

Rev Wright is no Islamic Imam.  He actually joined the U.S. military on his own and served in at least 2 branches of it before later becoming a preacher.  Have you joined the  military?  If not, you must be a commie as well.

Yeah, maybe Wright said some things you don’t like, but that’s the way he connects with his followers, many of whom are very poor.  For being the richest country in the world, maybe Wright is right in that perhaps we shouldn’t have so many poor people.

How are Axelrod, Jarret, and Gibbs “crooks?”  Please tell me.  Please give one shred of evidence.  Have they ever been charged with any wrong doing?

Santorum is an idiot.  He is a religious nut.  I really do not care if he is Catholic/Christian.  I really don’t care if Obama is a Christian (or even a Muslim), an atheist, or any other religion.

The problem with people like Santorum is that they wear their religion on their sleeves.  They think their way is the best and only way.  While Christianity (including Catholicism) is a large religion, so is Islam; so is Buddhism; so are other religions.  Why does Santorum think his religion is the “right” one and one that should govern this country?

Why are there so many different religions, and why do they have many common beliefs?  It is because these are human beliefs……they are not beliefs “owned” only by one particular religion.

Obama has not worn his religion on his sleeve.  He is more “Christian” than Santorum and others like him claim to be.

This frothy Santorum may win the GOP nomination, but he will not beat Obama.

Do they still believe in that lie? It has been proven to be so untrue, the MD from Britain lost his medical license.

But I still found it funny. At least I am laughing at the ass-h**es, instead of crying because they are so STUPID!!!!!

    Luckily not Sanitarium.

Where did you read this data on autism being linked to the MMR vaccine? In a peer-reviewed medical journal????  IF the answer is no, please do not tout data that has not been proven.  This is confusing to parents.

The only data I’ve read in a peer-reviewed journal has linked a causal-relationship between the vaccine and autism was recently found to have been falsified data. . . . . .

Get real Dufus, the Congress is at something like 7% approval rating which stinks of conservatives so how does a “phony” like Santorum have a chance. Just watch, they’ll be screaming for Christie to be the nominee soon.

Don Imus, Don’t even think about criticizing Neil Cavuto. Take a look at yourself. Cut your eyebrows and your hair!! If you think they look good -LOOK AGAIN!! You are UGLY!!
