Don Lemon Asks If Bill O’Reilly Would ‘Still Have a Job’ If He Worked Anywhere Else
Don Lemon started out the 11 pm ET hour of CNN Tonight this evening by covering the news of settlements paid to several women who accused Bill O’Reilly of sexual harassment.
O’Reilly did not address the news on Monday night’s O’Reilly Factor, but he did release a statement over the weekend that said, in part, “Just like other prominent and controversial people, I’m vulnerable to lawsuits from individuals who want me to pay them to avoid negative publicity. In my more than 20 years at Fox News Channel, no one has ever filed a complaint about me with the Human Resources Department, even on the anonymous hotline.”
After speaking with Wendy Walsh––one of the women in question––Lemon asked his panel, “Would he still have a job with any other company?”
CNN legal analyst Areva Martin said, “Absolutely not. This is really appalling, Don.”
Alan Dershowitz weighed in as well and said the settlements don’t “prove he’s guilty,” added, “I think every woman who makes a claim of sexual harassment should be taken seriously and should have––she is entitled to an investigation. She is not entitled to a presumption of guilt against [the] person she accuses.”
