Fox News’ Outnumbered Clashes Over Kushner Emails: ‘You Guys Made This Story About Hillary’
Gillian Turner got into a bit of a back-and-forth with her co-hosts on Fox News’ Outnumbered when they discussed the news of Jared Kushner’s recently reported use of a private email account.
The discussion began with the clip of Hillary Clinton reacting to this by calling it “the height of hypocrisy” from the Trump administration.
Lisa Boothe noted how Kushner’s lawyer told Politico that “fewer than 100 emails from January through August were either sent to or returned by Mr. Kushner to colleagues in the White House from his personal email account.”
The House Oversight Committee has asked the White House for more information on this matter.
After the clip of Clinton’s comments played, today’s #OneLuckyGuy Antonio Sabato Jr. said he found it amusing Clinton would call anyone else a hypocrite.
Turner then said “the way we’re framing this discussion today is putting the onus on Hillary Clinton” when it should be on Kushner and the other White House officials.
She argued that what Clinton did was clearly wrong and yet the current White House doesn’t “have any claims to plausible deniability,” particularly after the big national conversation surrounding the Clinton email scandal.
Sandra Smith brought up what Kushner’s lawyer said and called this a “different story” to Clinton’s. Turner asked if she’s going to “take his lawyer’s word at face value,” and Smith said, “That’s all I have to go off of, Gillian!”
Harris Faulkner and Booth agreed Clinton’s case is not comparable to Kushner’s, with Faulkner slamming the “corruption of judgment going on around that particular presidential candidate.”
“I’m not making the comparison,” Turner said. “You guys are. You guys made this story about Hillary Clinton.”
Smith shot back, “We didn’t make it about Hillary Clinton, Hillary Clinton made it about Jared Kushner!”
