From One Clown To Another: Colbert Unleashes The Fury On Glenn Beck

colbert_beck_doom_bunker-videoOver the last few months of political madness, a teary-eyed, raving Glenn Beck has outdone even Stephen Colbert, the comedic master of faux punditry and slippery rhetoric. But who would Colbert be if he didn’t fire back, unloading over six minutes last night on the media’s current court jester? As soon as Colbert announces that he is going to take a minute to “defend the mainstream media’s favorite punching bag Glenn Beck,” it’s clear that you should strap in because this one is quite a ride.

“What Glenn believes is irrelevant!” Colbert exlaims, citing Beck calling himself a “rodeo clown.” But to hear Colbert, entrenched in character, empathizing with Beck, another man buried so deeply underneath his own caricature, is almost too perfect of a satirical set-up. In a side-by-side video comparison of the hosts at their most insane and most convincing, their similarities are eerie enough to make you forget which is the comedian. It might make your head hurt, but it’s also hilarious.

    I love it.

Those are six minutes Stephen won’t get back; won’t be able to devote to something a little more ‘positive;’ something that might grow his audience rather than shrink it. In the end, Colbert would love to use HIS pulpit to destroy Beck’s. That it won’t happen must enrage the little man beyond all sense and reason. ‘Beyond all sense and reason’ is exactly the frame of mind the Leftist media is in right now because this was supposed to be the ‘raining candy’ time for their ilk.

But here they are, forced to ‘respond’ to what Beck, Limbaugh, and the ‘other side’ are saying. Why not ignore them, STEPHEN? Why not just laugh them away, with the knowledge that they can’t do anything but TALK on TV and radio? They can’t legislate and they can’t govern; so why the rage and the silver-dollar eyes of rage, STEPHEN? I guess it must be because these guys have AUDIENCES….and BIG audiences. Hmmmm! Why might THAT be? This rage by Leftists in the media is terrific. It’s their time in the sun and they can’t even enjoy it.

ChrisNH – evidently you have no clue what the point of is of “Colbert Report” otherwise you wouldn’t have wasted the time with making such a pointless comment.

It’s a comedy show. Hello! Somebody needs to renew their sense of humor.

Keeva- I was hoping not to have to state the obvious, but evidently it needs to be done.

I bet Beck thought it was funny.

    “It’s a comedy show.”

Except when it’s not. Clown nose on…

Seriously, some people need to “get a grip”. These shows are on Comedy Central. Get It????

ChrisNoHumor ladies and gentlemen, a quintessential epitome of quirky people who can’t separate satire from their bizarre escapade into the landscape of logical somersaults.

    Indeed, the mind reels.
