Gene Simmons: Obama ‘Not Being a Leader’

KISS rocker Gene Simmons said on Fox News Thursday that President Barack Obama is showing weakness in the U.S.’s ongoing tension with Russian President Vladimir Putin.

“I think that our president is not being a leader,” Simmons said on Outnumbered. “He’s not stepping up and drawing a line in the sand and sticking to it.”

Simmons, who once called Obama “a piss-poor president,” preempted his remarks, saying he was “neither a Republican nor Democrat.”

“I believe our presidents’ got to make some strong statements and back it up,” Simmons said. “Mean what you said and say what you mean.”

Putin has fallen under global criticism recently for militarily enabling pro-Russian separatists in Ukraine. Conservatives in the U.S. have accused Obama of not taking a more forceful stand against Putin.
