Herman Cain On Fox News: Many Muslims ‘Are Not Dedicated To This Country’

Video

Potential Republican candidate for President Herman Cain wasted no time attempting to clarify his earlier statement regarding Muslims not being allowed in his administration. Appearing with Neil Cavuto, Cain backpedaled slightly from his prior position, but more eagerly stressed that “being politically correct isn’t something I’m going to spend a whole lot of my time worrying about.”

Cain admits he did say the controversial comments, yet hints that the reporter left out some potentially exculpatory details:

“The reporter didn’t tell you this, I would have to have people totally committed to the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution of this United States. And many of the Muslims – they are not totally dedicated to this country, they are not dedicated to our Constitution. Many of them are trying to force Sharia law on the people of this country.”

It’s hard to tell what is stranger, that it seems Cain is digging himself into a deeper hole or that he somehow thought the statement that Muslims are not dedicated to this country would put his prior statement into a reasonable context? But don’t worry, he’s not done digging. Cain also argues he would prefer not having Muslims on his cabinet because “I don’t have time to be watching someone on my administration if they’re not totally committed . . . to the laws of this country.” And finally Cain says, “so far I have not come across or I don’t have acquaintances with people who have professed the Muslim religion that are on the list of people that I would consider” for a position. As for the promised clarification, after Cavuto pressed further, Cain finally did admit that he is “not saying never, never, never” would he allow someone of Muslim faith to serve in his administration.

who are these muslims who have so much power that they can institute sharia law in america? what is this guy talking about

Second story today on a candidate with zero chance of even getting the nomination — all because he says some insensitive things. But no story on MSNBC’s parent company paying ZERO dollars in US taxes last year and receiving billions in secret Fed bailout money.

Mediaite, a once promising and hard-hitting site, sinks into irrelevance.

  • BFD

I sure do hope the wording in this article doesn’t secretly “morph” to mean something else like it did in the “locked in a closet” thread.

I still can’t believe staff here edit their articles w/o citations.
Must be nice to change your “meaning” after you are proven wrong.

  • TfT

    Not to mention the fact Felix, that the author of this piece FLAT OUT MISSTATED what Cain said;

    The author writes this:

“Muslims are not dedicated to ” and leave out the term “many” which is what Cain stated.

Just one more example of the bias on this board.

As for the spiking of the story about GE and ZERO taxes…it’s kind of like no story on Obama Grhaib….immagine if that had happened under Bush; oh wait — now lets harken back to how the media covered that story.

Typical lefty loons, circling the wagons.

I guess Dan is busy with his ABC stuff to be bothered about accurance, integrity, honesty, etc. from his writers here.

oh well. The enemedia strikes again, and in the process, destroy their own credibility

  • BFD

I’m not sure Cain understands how Fox works.

They bring conservatives on so they can talk their way OUT of their messes.

There have two recent instances where US judges are choosing to follow Sharia Law instead of Constitutional Law. The American Bar Assn. is writing a position paper that will allow Sharia Law to operate in the USA.

Herman is perfectly clear on where he stands…Contrary to what Media-ette fantasizes, Cain is very clear and firm….No Muslims in his government; he will not grant a foothold for Sharia.

Many blacks are dedicated to robbing liquor stores. Many Christians are dedicated to harboring pedophiles.

What’s the difference between those statements and his?

We the ( real American ) people need to keep up the pressure on the muslim population in this country.

By doing so, one of two things will happen. Either they will stay calm and cooperate to foster a better understanding and mutual trust. Or they will flip out on National TV, screaming in their native tongue and spilling the beans about their true intentions of first growing their base, then taking over our local politics, then fighting for sharia law, under the guise of equal rights, and if successful blow up our families and or chop off our heads.

Thats the BIG TABOO WORD in the deep dark jungles of America where they are more afraid of one word than they are of death.
When will America GROW UP and tell the people of the world that it was a nasty word used long long ago by slave traders.BUT USE THE WORD, DON’T PRETEND IT DOESN’T EXIST.
The rest of the world is laughing at you.
In Australia we used to call the blacks “coons”. I think it refers to the dogs used to track runaway slaves, but because we did not say DON”T USE IT, we never hear it said anymore. It’s just another word.

    http://www.pvv.nl/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=1310&Itemid=1

    An excerpt:

“All is not well in the old world. There is a tremendous danger looming, and it is very difficult to be optimistic. We might be in the final stages of the Islamization of Europe. This not only is a clear and present danger to the future of Europe itself, it is a threat to America and the sheer survival of the West. The danger I see looming is the scenario of America as the last man standing. The United States as the last bastion of Western civilization, facing an Islamic Europe. In a generation or two, the US will ask itself: who lost Europe? Patriots from around Europe risk their lives every day to prevent precisely this scenario form becoming a reality.”

“The Europe you know is changing. You have probably seen the landmarks. The Eiffel Tower and Trafalgar Square and Rome’s ancient buildings and maybe the canals of Amsterdam. They are still there. And they still look very much the same as they did a hundred years ago.”

“But in all of these cities, sometimes a few blocks away from your tourist destination, there is another world, a world very few visitors see – and one that does not appear in your tourist guidebook. It is the world of the parallel society created by Muslim mass-migration. All throughout Europe a new reality is rising: entire Muslim neighbourhoods where very few indigenous people reside or are even seen. And if they are, they might regret it. This goes for the police as well. It’s the world of head scarves, where women walk around in figureless tents, with baby strollers and a group of children. Their husbands, or slaveholders if you prefer, walk three steps ahead. With mosques on many street corner. The shops have signs you and I cannot read. You will be hard-pressed to find any economic activity. These are Muslim ghettos controlled by religious fanatics. These are Muslim neighbourhoods, and they are mushrooming in every city across Europe. These are the building-blocks for territorial control of increasingly larger portions of Europe, street by street, neighbourhood by neighbourhood, city by city.”

“There are now thousands of mosques throughout Europe. With larger congregations than there are in churches. And in every European city there are plans to build super-mosques that will dwarf every church in the region. Clearly, the signal is: we rule.”

“Many European cities are already one-quarter Muslim: just take Amsterdam, Marseille and Malmo in Sweden. In many cities the majority of the under-18 population is Muslim. Paris is now surrounded by a ring of Muslim neighbourhoods. Mohammed is the most popular name among boys in many cities. In some elementary schools in Amsterdam the farm can no longer be mentioned, because that would also mean mentioning the pig, and that would be an insult to Muslims.”

    Are Liberals anti-American?

I can’t help but notice the aversion Liberals have being identified as un-American, or anti-American. But in consideration of the fact that truth knows no agenda, here is the truth Liberals would rather not have to address.

    1. America was founded as the ‘land of the free’ and our Constitution established the nobility of the individual above the government or the masses. The government exists “at the consent of the governed,” unlike oppressive regimes that exist to the opposite. Liberals tirelessly work to reverse that value system, putting the government and the “greater good” (as they alone see it) above the individual rights to life, liberty, and ownership of property our American system guarantees.

    2. In every instance where the question arises, Liberals never miss an opportunity to ‘blame America first,’ the very essence of being “anti-American.” Liberals never miss an opportunity to stand with America’s enemies against her, promoting the notion that those enemies are somehow “victims” of America. Treason as defined in the Constitution is “giving aid and comfort to our enemy,” and there can be no denying the guilt of the anti-American Liberals in constantly committing this crime.

For anyone interested, I’ve saved a list of quotes where it’s impossible to distinguish the Democrat politicians from Al Qaida leaders as to who made the quotes. Very “anti-American” to the core.

    3. Avowed anti-Americans always gravitate to the Democrat Party for association. The Socialist Party, the Communist Party, Muslims, Marxists, and illegal immigrants find sanctuary with anti-American Democrats, as they all have the same agenda……………destroy America as it was founded and replace the American value system with a foreign style oppressive system. Democrats give aid and comfort to Muslims who work to advance the fascist Sharia law into the incompatible American system of individual liberty and human rights. And third world tyrannical dictators always are friendly with Democrats who support their efforts without hesitation.

The problem with most of you DIMS here, is that you prefer to work in the cover of darkness than to step up into the light and proudly wear your anti-Americanism like a badge. Go ahead, you’re not fooling anyone………….except maybe yourself if you consider the above list somehow “patriotic.” But I suspect most of you know who what you are…….you just don’t like discussing it openly.

You can copy and paste with the best of ‘em. You have convinced me. I’ll be signing up for the Glenn Beck Insider within the hour.

    Well played godd sir.

  • catfishjuggling

And, btw, my problem with individuals like you is a complete lack of subtlety. I guess that the fact that I am firmly in the Mitch Daniels camp for 2012 makes me Che Guevara?

You know there are people who are willing to vote for Republicans but who get repulsed by the everyone else is the enemy of America rhetoric. But keep it up and I’ll enjoy watching four more years of your stupid anti-Obama screeds.

I don’t mind “cutting and pasting” my own script. but you can go ahead and run away, catfish………….all Dims do when faced with the TRUTH. If you think of something AMERICAN that Liberals stand for, just lemme know.

  • catfishjuggling

Yes Davo. There is not one single American liberal who likes anything American.

    You have complete nailed it.

    I applaud your insight.

Well, how many times do I need to invite you to support your view? So far, every time you post it’s a logic-free, empty admission of wrong-headed brainwash. Go ahead…………..make my day.

  • catfishjuggling

I am not a freaking liberal. That isn’t my job.

I just think that the rhetoric is way too stupid. You are doing a very nice job of proving my point though.

No………..you people never are, right? I think we get your take here, catfish. You have no rational support to offer, just one-liner drive-by shootings. I knew there was nothing else.

  • catfishjuggling

    You people. Wow.

Since we’re on a new page, I’ll just re-post this:

    Are Liberals anti-American?

I can’t help but notice the aversion Liberals have being identified as un-American, or anti-American. But in consideration of the fact that truth knows no agenda, here is the truth Liberals would rather not have to address.

    1. America was founded as the ‘land of the free’ and our Constitution established the nobility of the individual above the government or the masses. Again, you are blaming other Americans for the problems in America.

Good job not being a blame America firster.

    I’m now bored with you.

Btw, anyone who would paint an entire group of Americans with a broad brush like you just did is a moron and should not be taken seriously.

To be clear here, individual people with your shared political philiosophy are perfectly fine people.

You, as a person, are a small minded jerk.

I am not familiar with you, catfish, but are you serious. Let’s review: the teaparty are morons, gun toting, prejudiced, black and muslim hating, stupid, toothless, redneck a$$holes that are too stupid to get get out of bed without instructions on the ceiling. Sound familiar, or is it, as always, okay to paint anyone that disagrees with you as moronic, small minded, etc if you are a liberal. And if you read, you will see most of the people that are posting against muslim extremists are posting against muslim EXTREMISTS, not all Muslims. But that wouldn’t fit your denigration of other posters, so nevermind.

comment didn’t show the first three paragraphs as a quote from catfishjuggling, sorry.

  • catfishjuggling

Where and when I did I say that? I don’t remember.

But if I did it was wrong of me to say. And I am sorry.

Candidate Cain is right. As the U.S. State Department has been bringing thousands of Middle Easterners to be “resettled” in our country as “Political Asylum” refugees they are keeping-up with daily political events in their homelands on facebook and raising money for their political groups. They have no interest in becoming Americans:

That must be true. Luckily there are no Americans of Italian or Irish ancestry who display strong civic pride and interest in their country of origin.

Also a good thing we have no Jewish people who care about Israel.

Certian most Japanses Americans are indifferent to aftermath of the earthquake.

Btw, there is no way you see the irony in pointing out that while they are following events on FACEBOOK that they have no interest in bening American, right?

A bigot is a person obstinately or intolerantly devoted to his or her own opinions and prejudices, especially one exhibiting intolerance, and animosity toward those of differing beliefs. The predominant usage in modern English refers to persons hostile to those of differing race, ethnicity, nationality, inter-regional prejudice, gender and sexual orientation, homelessness, various medical disorders particularly behavioral disorders and addictive disorders and religion or spirituality. Forms of bigotry may have a related ideology or world views.

OMG. You’ve just described the entire Democrat Party. They even go so far as to endeavor to silence voices that disagree with them in the media, the school system, and now even the churches.

Conservatives, however, are highly tolerant of opposing voices, up until those voices turn violent as Liberals always eventually do. But no Conservative has suggested silencing opposition, even NPR.

    Kvon, you’ve inadvertently stumbled upon a purely Left-Wing pronoun…………………”BIGOT.”

    Yes.

If Conservatives were as intolerant as the goofy liberals say they are, then the Conservatives would have decimated the liberals decades ago.

True. But ya’ gotta understand, Alz, these Dim ones aren’t………….well…………..bright enough to notice how things actually are. They’re just repeating what their Communist “thinkers” tell them to repeat, no matter how ridiculous they appear in doing so. They’re only impressing themselves.

Yeah. Like you’re not just repeating stuff you’ve heard from the right without thinking.

Another fabulous example of partisan fantasy. This kind of thing, applying such obviously ludicrous sweeping generalizations doesn’t warrant addressing. Any opinion that lumps all conservatives or liberals into one mind set is ludicrous on it’s face.
