Hugh Hewitt: Clinton Campaign is Dems’ Weekend at Bernie’s

Meet the Press host Chuck Todd pointed out Sunday morning that for all the GOP’s shots at the Clintons and Barack Obama, they’d yet to actually defeat them, and wondered if Republicans continually overplayed their hand. Conservative radio host Hugh Hewitt took that as a sign to make several references no one under 25 would get.

“This is like a New Coke moment,” Hewitt said. “It’s actually like a Weekend at Bernie’s moment. [Democrats] are afraid they have a candidate they have to prop up from now until November of ’16; that there isn’t any substance, there isn’t any charisma, and most of all, she’s not trustworthy. …She fails on the trustworthy question again and again.”

If that’s true, GOP candidates are losing in national polling to a dead person.
