Joe Scarborough Mocks Rick Perry: ‘He’s Not A Real Conservative’

video

Joe Scarborough showed off his best Texan accent this morning while accusing Rick Perry of being a liberal who had traded teams just to gain power on today’s Morning Joe.

Scarborough calls Perry a “dime store conservative” while taking note of his chairing role on Al Gore‘s campaign and what he call’s Perry’s 1993 “love letter” to Hillary Clinton –”we have a lot of these in the south,” he says. ”He’s not a real conservative.”

His impression peaked as he mocked, “you know what, doggone it, let’s secede from the union and Social Security’s a Ponzi scheme, let’s shut down FEMA.” Voices from around the table suggested that Perry might just be open mined or perhaps evolving, but Scarborough seemed to be having too much fun to stop.

Mocking tone dropped and “personal nutty stuff aside,” Scarborough predicts fearfully that Perry will be just another “big government Republican” who will “do whatever it takes to get elected.” In reference to past Texas governors turned Presidents, he says, “If he had the swagger and he followed it up in DC, that’d be great.”

Can’t Mediaite find a picture of Mika that doesn’t look like she is in dire need of fiber in her diet?

  • Anonymous

Dick Cheney is going into that snakepit of sneering lefties this week , in person .

The evil Mika , licking her chops , said : ” I’ve got my list !”   ( of questions from the White House ).

  • http://twitter.com/AbsurdHero Nick Wright

He’s not conservative OR liberal. He’s an unabashed opportunist.

  • Obama – The – Destroyer

Joe “The 0ozing Scar” Scarborough is, of course, Bat-$hit crazy.

    So, whatever…

  • http://pulse.yahoo.com/_FSPIVAFYI672OH5NOKVRTEZA4U MadCharles

hahahahaha  this guy is such a clown. How would he know  a  conservative ?

  • Anonymous

That’s her “I’m an angry liberal’ look.  NBC has spared no expense on focus groups to determine how their hosts should represent themselves.

Joe must spend a LOT of time figuring out how to boost ratings. His split-the-baby weekly coulmns ain’t flying. Mika’s too dim to brighten up the show (“Morning Joke”), acting as the House Idiot (certified).

So, ol’ Joe just reads yesterday’s headlines, puts his finger in the wind. and jumps on the first bandwagon coming by.

  • http://pulse.yahoo.com/_JUT2TATEV3OHGQ7HZRYN472XVM Felix

Can’t Mediaite find a picture of Mika that doesn’t look like she needs to be “off to see the Wizard, the wonderful Wizard of Oz!”? You KNOW which one she is (Hint: “If I onnnly had a brain…”).

  • Anonymous

But Joe is a real (-).

  • insideguy

Who is a real conservative? Ive never quite figured this out.

  • Anonymous

PHONY JOE wouldn’t know a real conservative if….

(You may complete that joke with any of the 3.65 Million possibilities.)

  • Anonymous

Well.  When Joe SCARborough calls you a RINO…

…most people still don’t care about his opinion.

I’m all for vetting Parry.  I’m not sure if he’s genuine or not, shooting off at the mouth thinking that’s what people want to hear or just unused to the glare of an unsympathetic national press.  But Joe isn’t the arbiter of conservatism by which I’m going to judge.  He seems more off put by mannerisms that hail from parts not upper northeast (…isn’t he from Florida?) – and the snide reference to other types of conservatives isn’t helpful.  “All three (true, fiscal) conservatives,” he says in reference to himself.  Wait, what?  Where the hell has he been these last couple years?  Oh, that’s right.  Taking shots at the Tea Party along side Mika and Barnacle at MSNBC.  I wasn’t one on board with Bush’s agenda, and neither are many people involved in today’s conservative movement.  Maybe he’s been in NYC too long to know what that even is.

I never know whether one of these attacs has anything to do with someone falling in line with one side or another’s rhetoric and are serving as unwitting hatchet men in a Bush / Parry inside (Texas League) baseball turf war.

I believe we all know what Mika needs(and Joke’s not up to it)!

Like Joe Scarborough would any idea regarding  ” real ” Conservative.

That is like Barack Obama discussing the Christian faith….not a clue.

  • James

    Mika is a two bagger!
In case one of them falls off…

  • Re-Elect Obama 2012

    Dear Hillary,

“I think your efforts in trying to reform the nation’s health care system are most commendable.”

    Yours Truly,

    Rick

  • Johnjguy

    ‘A Dime Store Conservative…’

We shall all find out soon enough with enough scrutiny.

  • Joepglass

How is Paul Ryan a small government conservative? He supported both of Bush’s wars.  He voted for atleast six of Bush’s budgets. He voted for Tarp. Please explain Joe?

  • Re-Elect Obama 2012

Because hypocrisy aside, he is now willing to do away with Medicare.

  • LindaLeigh

Rick Perry seems to be a fake opportunist…but then that’s what they all seem like. They are politicians after all.

  • Anonymous

So the guy who works for MSNBC, books 6 to 8 left winger for every conservative and just sits there when Steve Ratner calls Republicans terrorist is goiong to be the arbitor on who is and who is not a “Conservative”.

    That a good one Joe.

What next, is Mika gooing to accuse someone of being a bubble brain Pollock?

The best part of the RINO wound up as a brown stain on his parents mattress.

  • Anonymous

Think RINO JOE is talking about himself.

According to Scarborough you’re not a real republican until your sleep with your intern then kill her. What a has been working for a loser network.

  • gordonbloyershow

Joe has exposed himself as a full blown idiot.

Scarborough is saving all his love for the true conservative….Huntsman.

  • Anonymous

    HAHAHAHAHA!!!!

Like you know anything about Christian faith!

    HAHAHAAHAHAHAH!!!!

  • Anonymous

You mean Scarborough isn’t your personal touchstone of conservatism? Me neither. He serves the purpose for MSLSD, though. OK, he shares it with Pat Buchanan, but you get my point.

Hey, is it just me or has MSLSD lost its Fox Fixation? It almost seems like they’re just licking their wounds, and wishing that Obama wasn’t a SCOAMF.

  • Anonymous

No, really? Cheney is doing Morning Joe? Something I absolutely must watch is going to be on MSLSD?

I see I’ve fallen down a rabbit hole.

  • B W

According to FOX News, Rush Limbaugh and the like, Sarah Palin is. Even though she has almost no record, she talks tough, calls Democrats every name under the sun (which is what they do to us) and she riles up the base.

A “true” Conservative is one who doesn’t believe in welfare, including corporate subsidies. A true Conservative believes in a humble foreign policy, one that entails America’s interests, and not getting involved in every other nation’s business. A true Conservative is one who respects the law, and doesn’t tell Americans they have to trade liberty for security. Habeas Corpus being turned on it’s head, the Patriot Act and Rendition are NOT Conservative policies. True Conservatives support school-choice, healthcare choice from the marketplace, and a broad range of energy development. True Conservatives do not support torture, nor the death penalty, as they are inhuman and destroy human life. By the same token, Conservatives oppose abortion, embryonic-based stem-cell destruction, and doctor-assisted suicides. True Conservatives believe that the marketplace ought to determine the value and behavior of an otherwise  non-harmful substance such as Marijuana.

  • B W

He also supported Medicare Part D.

Interesting so if based on this extensive definition which appears very well thought out,why would the republican party not be behind Huntsman?

  • B W

Because he’s a diplomat, instead of a bomb-thrower, like Palin, Bachmann or Dick Cheney. Huntsman shows respect for President Obama, and sticks to criticizing his policies, not his religion, birth certificate, or his personal behavior (vacations, golfing, or what he and the First Lady eat). The GOP/Neocons/Fake Conservatives hate Huntsman because he served his country as an ambassador, even though they always tell Americans that serving your country is the most patriotic thing you can do. Furthermore, Huntsman is an adult, and doesn’t result to out-and-out insults or name-calling to get his points across.

The NYT called MSNBC “Lib Cheerleaders.” I wonder whether ‘pot-calling-kettle-black’ Joey would have a problem with this correct characterization.

I absolutely LOVE how consumed with anger Lib media hacks have become. They thought they’d be gorging themselves on expensive caviar and drowning themselves in champagne with OBAMO in the WH. It’s been a dreadful period for them, having the failure of Lib-rul-ism tied like a piano around their neck.

Many of these Lib Media HACKS are fleeing the biz…knowing that Obamo is a Lame D_ick and not wanting to show their tears when it happens.

  • LJB57

That’s nothing, Joe Scarborough is not a real Man!

  • Anonymous

Yes Joe, tell us all about what a real conservative is. Tell us all about the real Conservatism you surround yourself with each and every day at the MOST Liberal place on the planet. You must hear so much Conservative wisdom when you surround yourself with nothing but Liberals or people that suck up to liberals to be invited to the good Manhattan parties, people just like yourself. Perhaps you can explain further about the dead assistant in your office so many years ago in Fort Walton. Do not hold back your wisdom Joe.

  • NeverWrong

Yo Joe, how are them morning ratings working out for you? ROTFLMAO ot good, not good at all. Lower than those of Spitzer and the Washington Compost woman had on their show on CNN. Yep, people (viewers) are so totally turned off of Morning Joe Blowhard & Mika Airhead that even Al NOTsharpton is beating you by 200,000 viewers and his ratings are terrible. I think we are seeing the end of your show Joe. You are so full of it and everyone who has seen just 30 seconds of you shooting your big mouth off gets turned off and switches over to one of the other morning shows…all of which are so much better than the crap you spew out daily.

Joe, you are a joke…deal with it.

    350,000 total viewers!      ROTFFLMFAO@UJoe!!!

  • Brer Orabbit

No more than Joe Scarborough is a functioning human imbecile.

  • TXarc

Rick Perry is an empty suit and has no principles but to get elected and reward his cronies. The worst choice of all. I doubt he last long with his big mouth.

  • Owl22

Perry is easily the most transparently shallow person in national politics for a long long time.

  • http://MsUnderestimated.com MsUnderestimated

….I love the claim that he says “I’ve always been a conservative.”

Seriously? When was that, Joe, dadgummit?

  • NeverWrong

Where the hell have you been for the past two and a half years of the community organizer’s Chicago mafia’s administration? Maybe living inside a sand dune in Libya? Oh well, at least your jokes are somewhat entertaining.

ot good s/b Not good, not good at all. Edit button needed.

  • NeverWrong

Good grief, you need chest high waders to watch 5 minutes of THE socialist commie Joe Blowhard and Mika Airhead In The Morning today. Joe is showing all 99 of their viewers that he really is a socialist. Ol’ Blowhard is so out of touch with both the American people and current affairs in politics. He is blaming the Republican House members for putting Obumbler’s scam of a speech off a day. Joe is so damn dumb to fall for the current WH’s crap. He is so damn blind he can’t see what Obummer tried to pull yesterday and the old hag, Mika Airhead is all upset because Bonner stood up to Bo. And then there is Very Low IQ Mike Barnicle. Good grief, Comcast…pull the damn plug before 30 Rock explodes in BS.

  • Anonymous

Well said and too true. Joe could never be a credible judge of conservatism.

  • Can’t Wait

Can’t wait for Joe & Mika radio show to come back bigger and stronger like Joe said 2 years ago. When is that?

  • Anonymous

If it has to be explained to you then what does that make you….?

  • Ricci Dats Me

I’m reading your posts and wondering if you are coherent.

  • Anonymous

You can always tell a Levin fan.  They think Mark’s hysterical wordplay is not as juvenile as it sounds to normal people.

  • Anonymous

So, this lifelong Republican douchebag cannot maintain his conservative bona fides because he speaks with and to liberals (despite the fact that there are no coherent liberals on that set.  Mika is there to mimic the uptight exurban mom in her McMansion whose greatest worry is what daycare the kids are get in to) and Barnicle may be a Democrat, but he’s no more liberal than you are Clark.

Surrounded by half-wits and morons and the truly stupid like Mark Halperin, you just think his lifelong conservative melted away?  Is that why you people have to live in your right wing bubble?  Because, the second you step outside, the conservatism just can’t take the criticism?

Wow, I’d be embarrassed to yoked to such a feckless philosophy.

He masterminded Medicaid Part D.  His budget calls for a mandated voucher program for Medicare which mimics the President’s plan.

He’s a conservative, I guess, because he favors plutocrats over the rest of us and that makes true bl;ue for the Limbaughs of the world

B W, you have no idea how many of those things I disagree with you on, but, as an exemplar of what the conservatism Buckley and the like preached, that is dead on.

I crown you “most intelligent conservative of Mediaite,” which I had suspected and wish you could rid yourself of tea party yahoos and war-mongering neo-cons.

  • Anonymous

He’s laying the ground work for 2016.  After the Tea Party flame-out next year, he will well-positioned to fight the next Dem nominee.

And, after reading his tax plan, I can only hope he has no chance of winning

He was Gingrich’s butt buddy when he was elected.  The idea this troglodyte needs a lesson from the right wing base as to what a conservative is a joke.

  • Anonymous

WOW, using Levin-isms.  Beck and Levin….crazy and angry.  You are so far outside the mainstream of American political thought that make Jim DeMint seem reasonable

  • Anonymous

No, he’s a douchebag because he calls himself a Republican but almost always berates his fellow Republicans to curry favor with Democrats and Liberals. I do agree with him being surrounded with half-wits and morons such as Lawrence O’Donnell and Eugene Robinson, who fall on the “far left” category that mostly populates Morning Joe.

I hardly live in a right-wing bubble. I just take offense to supposed Republicans like Joe claiming his brand of liberal Republicanism is the way to go. I don’t believe in it and I will continue to call him on it. My Conservativism will continue to outshine liberal socialist philosophies for years to come.

I’d be embarrassed to be yoked to a failed political philosophy (socialism) that has never worked before. Thats what the Democrat party has been taken over by: Socialists. If you aren’t one of them, you should take back your party.

The entirety of the rest of the industrialized world laughs at your last paragraph.  From Japan to Finland to Canada, people enjoy better standards of living, lower infant mortality, easier to afford university tuition, and, of course, good healthcare.

America has worse social outcomes than some Third World countries.

  • Anonymous

And yet, for some reason, people keep immigrating from those countries to ours. Funny, isn’t it? You’d think with all those benefits people would want to stay there. You don’t see us going in droves to Canada or Japan, do you? The rest of the industrialized world doesn’t have the freedom we have here either. We do have our problems, but freedoms such as having as many children as we want don’t exist in places such as china, where they abort a second girl. Socialist China sounds great, doesn’t it? Perhaps if I just want to live in a place where the government takes care of my needs and I can then have not much else would I want to live in those countries. Until then, I’ll stay here where I can strive to be the best I am and earn all that I can. Its call ambition: Its something that is squashed and trampled in those socialist countries you revere.

  • Anonymous

yes, revere, Clark. I used that exact word…..oh, no, I didn’t, i just responded to your absurd claim that socialism is dead and never worked and yada yada yada.  So, before standing up in front of the flag and hiving your homily, try not moving the goalposts too far and check out the latest stats on America, where few people are able to “be the best” they can.

Btw, you GDP represents capital exchanges and borrowed money and service industries, because we sure as hell don’t manufacture anything in this country anymore. We’re turning into Britain of 1910: sclerotic with rigid class systems, reliant on banking and finance to maintain an Empire. Like the Dutch and Spanish before them, they declined because the country that made things (or shipped them in the Dutch case) was no longer themselves. Enjoy your 25% now, Clark, ’cause the next generation’s gonna be working for Chinese “communists.” And, it will because of the Boomers and their short-sighted greed and selfishness that has always been their hallmark
typical middle-aged, white Republican….just knows that all it takes is hard work and by golly, success will shower down on me.  Hint:  for most of America right now, that’s not what showers down on them

Joe Scarborough saying that someone is not a true conservative is like Obama protesting a multiracial couple. Joe Scarborough is a turncoat liberal is conservatives clothing. What a hypocrite.

  • Anonymous

You mean, shallower than the Community-Organizer-in-Chief?  Who lost a congressional election to Bobby Rush?  Who can’t give a 3-minute speech nominating Alan Kreuger for chairman of the Council of Economic Advisers without 2 – count ‘em – 2 telepromptors?  Who tries to upstage the Republican Presidential debate but gets relegated to 4 PM on the West Coast just before the first NFL game instead?

  • Anonymous

Not a real conservative because he traded teams?  That would exclude most Texas Republicans over 60 (the Bushes are not real Texans, both being New England transplants), since the Texas Republican Party before 1970 could have held a convention in a phone booth.  Joe Scarborough is a lawyer (variant spelling of liar) who resigned from Congress in 2001 “to spend more time with his family” and then promptly got a job with MSNBC, the most far-Left media outlet in the business.  Methinks Joe S. is the phony conservative.

  • http://www.facebook.com/people/Jj-Wisniewski/100002654075475 Jj Wisniewski

As much as don’t think Sarah Palin will run or would be a serious candidate for the nomination, she’s right about the “Crony Capitalism” comment obviously directed at Perry. That’s where the money for his campaign will come from, including SuperPacs, the biggest of which will be the $44 billion warchest of the Koch Brothers, who’s oil interest are directly in line with Perry. They’ll be running ads day and night attacking the rest of the field and praising his so called accomplishments in Texas. I know that Joe is perceived as a RINO. I’m just wondering what does it take to be considered a conservative. Joe’s record in the House speaks for itself. Sure he’s on MSNBC, but, he’s pregmatic and a realist in relation to what will it take to win the white house. These debates are fine, but when it comes down to the debates in the general election, lets be real, Obama can be more convinving to the center more so than Perry and that’s where elections are won and lost. The question is how does Perry go on in the primary with a far right agenda to win the nomination, then magically pull back to center right in the general to win indepedents. That will surely be seen as flip flopping and hypocricy. Voters in the middle are not idiotic so as not to see through it all.
