John Heilemann: Obama’s Team Thinks He Has More Talent In One Finger Than All GOP Candidates

Video

In addition to exploring potential Republican presidential campaign strategies, Chris Matthews also asked what President Obama’s perspective on the 2012 election might be? The panel of guests agreed that Obama and his campaign team were feeling confident, especially given the potential opposition.

John Heilemann from New York Magazine, suggested about people within the Obama administration:

“They look at the Republican field and they say, ‘you’ve got to be kidding. Our guy has so much, he has more talent in his little finger than any of these Republicans, and they are going to have to put someone on the field eventually, and our guy will run them straight over.’ That’s what they think.”

If Heilemann’s reporting accurately reflects the sentiment within Obama’s campaign team, then could such an attitude potentially lead to his downfall? Many remember Hillary Clinton didn’t think Obama was much competition either and we all remember how that turned out.

Obama is his own achiles heel, and he created his Obama regime in his own likeness. They’re one big sweaty, stinky foot, which on most days is firmly ensconsed in their collective mouths.

No, no, no. The headline here needs to be changed. Instead of:

Obama’s Team Thinks He Has More Talent In One Finger Than All GOP Candidates

Let’s put up something we can ALL agree about:

Obama’s Team Thinks He Can Spend More Money with One Finger Than The Whole Body of GOP Candidates

Romney is the only candidate who can realistically beat Obama in a general election. But will the later primary process pull all the potential nominees so far right that they won’t be able to get back to the center for a general, i.e. Whitman in California? Probably.

If we had an objective press without a democrat agenda this election would be a disaster for obama as he legitimately has nothing of merit he’s accomplished that is good for this nation. He’s an umitigated failure and we’ll all pay for it for a long time.

He’s hurt this country badly, and the media has his been his biggest partner in crime right behind the unions.

God willing there will be enough sane people to oust his socialist agenda and I don’t think it matters who his Republican opponent is, the focus from the right is going to be on the damage this yutz has done.

The best commercial the right has is the one featuring the Chinese guy lecturing the students, one look at that and even dems know Barry sold us out.

Even you should realize that with all his screw-ups Obama is far from being a candidate without an honest challenger.

Mitch Daniels causes some concern. He’s the only one so far that at least sounds slightly reasonable and sane.

Romney has no chance….he looks great on paper, but he’s the right’s version of John Kerry.

  • mibwilso

The only person with a serious chance is Huckabee.

He’s the only one with any personality who’s not completely polarizing. At the end of the day somebody’s got to be able to stand on stage and debate Obama. Huck’s the only one who comes off as likeable.

    Yes We Did:

    1. Shaft the American people with our healthcare nationalization, rationing, abortion and taxation atrocity.
    2. Shaft the future of Americans by creating a massive multi-trillion dollar debt that will stifle the American economy for generations.
    3. Shaft American citizens by supporting ILLEGAL immigrant criminals over American citizens.
    4. Shaft white Americans by allowing Black Panther thugs the freedom to physically intimate white voters at polling places.
    5. Shaft American workers by enacting incompetent, phony, wasteful pork-filled solutions to the economic crisis that have INCREASED unemployment, prolonged the crisis and massively increased US debt.
    6. Shaft one of America’s most loyal allies, Israel, again, and again, and again, and again, and……
    7. Shaft American freedom by proactively helping and supporting radical islamic jihadist terrorists, and kissing-up to muslims who hate America.
    8. Shaft America’s security by refusing to protect our country from the massive invasion of ILLEGALS, TERRORISTS and others that easily cross our unsecured borders.
    9. Shaft America with actions and policies that promote and enact a racist agenda.
    10. Shaft the U.S. Constitution with the 2 worst ever nominees for SCOTUS: a la raza extremist and a third-rate political hack.
    11. Shaft federal law by illegally offering government jobs to at least 2 d-crats to get them to stop their election campaigns, regardless of the desires of voters.
    12. Shaft the presidential Oath of Office by REFUSING to enforce established American laws, like the Defense of Marriage Act, to appease extremist supporters.
    13. Shaft the American economy and the economic well-being of American citizens by prohibiting and/or limiting access to America’s oil resources to DOUBLE gas prices since obozo took office in Jan 2009.
    14. Shaft the US Constitution and the US Congress by unilaterally sending the American military to war to help Europe get Libyan oil WITHOUT CONGRESSIONAL APPROVAL.
    15. Shaft the strength and independence of America by allowing communist China to own 1 TRILLION DOLLARS of the massive US debt the lunatic-left d-crat socialists created to fund their pork, bailouts, union hand-outs, crony capitalist bonuses and socialist welfare.

Imagine how bad it will be with 4 more years of his shafting of America.

Again, I really don’t see the point you’re making.

    A) Ezra Klein is also pretty open about his political leanings (and was even before the “list” was revealed.

    B) EVERY journalist has opinions, whether they say it or not. How is a list of liberal journalists any different than a list of conservative journalists?? There are plenty of conservative-leaning journalists…I’m sure Bill Sammon over at Fox probably knows a lot of them.

My larger point is that we should assume that ALL reporters have political leanings.

Rather than look for “unbiased” reporting, we should ask reporters to be upfront about their leanings and then evaluate the fairness of their reporting on that basis.

For example: If I know that Reporter A is a liberal, I can then determine whether I think he’s giving a fair shake to a politician….rather than trying to figure out if he/she is trying to sneak something past me.

As you can see all these cities are “liberal”/progressive/Democrat, And they are the places where more people are hurting. Progressiveism= Pain,Suffering, Misery, Death,
But that is already general knowledge.

I agree, but forming a secret group of journalists to push an agenda is morally and politicly corrupt.

So only people that live in cities count now? LOL. Nice deflection, though.

Of course you leave out that some of the highest concentrations of wealth are ALSO in cities run by liberals….see New York, LA, Chicago, etc.

Fair enough. If you claim to be unbiased, it’s unseemly to participate in such a group…….but several of the columnists on that list are opinion writers (Krugman, Joe Klein, Joe Conason, Matt Yglesias. etc).

They have openly stated what their views are in the past, so it’s not really unethical for them. Honestly, I’ve never heard of about 60% of them, though.

Similarly, you should also look at WHO those people write for.

Many of them write for The Nation, American Prospect, HuffPo, Mother Jones….all of whom are known to be liberal publications.

Yeah, that’s what he thought on 11/01/2010!

Uh son, a heck of a lot more people are going to vote in November 2012, than voted in 2010… especially since you dipshits have now offended everyone who isn’t 55+ and white. The days of the GOP winning National elections are coming to an end due to the changing demographics of this country. Look at your last 2 “wins”… a popular vote loss and a 1 state squeaker…. and the country ain’t getting any whiter “son”!!

By next year Obama won’t be able to beat Charlie Sheen.

  • wake up america

Obama grows government more then any other president. Strategy is union gets bigger and his base gets bigger. So for those of you that voted for him and aren’t under a union he is not your president. He is out to get your dollar to pay his minions so that they can vote for him. Obama goes after youth, blacks, Hispanics, and women. Figures theses are more easy to manipulate. How funny because he has not done a damn thing for any of them. Joke is on them!

Oh, that’s where it is, about time someone figured it out. Note to self….don’t vote for a candidate with finger talent, especially only one finger. Must be screwing up his texting, that could explain Libya.

Well, he was my senator and had finger issues then too, shoulda seen this coming. He’d spit on that finger and stick it in the wind, that’s how he got that promotion and now doesn’t know how to handle it.

To be quite frank, the man is a dud, always has been, always will be. Being an Obamabot has to be a fools errand.

LMAO ! ” Our guy has more talent in his little finger ” AT WHAT ? Campaigning ? Being a liar ? Playing Golf and Basketball ? Reading off the 3 large screen monitors in the back of a room ? Pissing off his own party and their constituents ? (more less reaching across the isle .) Throw in a Billion dollars and you got an election .
Obama will never be re-elected . For the first time in History . Folks can’t wait for an election to arrive . America will no way elect the man twice . And he will never have the support that he had with the whole race card like before . FRIST BLACK POTUS (tears )

  • Color Me Badd

This is true, Obama may be a lame president but the dude knows how to win elections and run campaigns. And the Republicans have absolutely no one that can beat him at this point. It isn’t going to be pretty, Obama is going to win in a landslide and the day after the election 2012 the Republicans will be in the same place they were the day after the election 2008.

You idiots better start thinking of a new tea party idea or something, cause by that time the tea party will be as dead as Paul Weyrich. Start thinking of your next move Republicans. Cause you gonna lose

    Which side is racist, now?

  • mediadoubt

I’ll admit that the Republican field is pretty lame. But remember, John McCain — who everyone thought would be a strong contender — quickly fell apart. His campaign was a shambles and Palin dragged him down even further. That, as much as anything Obama did himself, put Barack in the White House.

If one of the half-sensible candidates (Romney, Daniels, even Christie) puts together a well-run campaign, Obama will have a fight on his hands, precisely because of the state of the economy and the general anomie that afflicts the country.

Doesn’t really matter if Obama is smarter or more talented than his opponent if his opponent’s campaign is better-run than his.

    Ask Al Gore.

Journalist members actively working for Obama’s election…..

Poster Buckeye Texan of Free Republic has posted an updated list of 107 names confirmed on Journalist, with organization identities provided:
    1. Spencer Ackerman – Wired, FireDogLake, Washington
Independent, Talking Points Memo, The American Prospect
    2. Ben Adler – Newsweek, POLITICO
    3. Mike Allen – POLITICO

    etc., etc. . . .

FreeRepublic is not exactly noted for its evenhandedness or accuracy, but that notwithstanding, what’s the significance of this list? They’re all pretty much leftist political journalists. Who did you expect them to support, Tom Tancredo?
