Keith Olbermann Names Newt Gingrich Worst Person Over Erroneous Debate Jab

video

During a recent appearance on CSPAN’s Washington Journal, presumptive presidential hopeful Newt Gingrich took a shot at MSNBC anchors Keith Olbermann and Chris Matthews. Why? Gingrich claimed to watch a couple of years ago moderated by “the relentlessly hostile” and “so left-wing hosts” designed to embarrass the GOP candidates. Turns out? Neither Olbermann nor Matthews ever moderated a debate with GOP hopefuls. Hmmm.

After Mediaite first reported the anti-Olbermann salvo fired of by Gingrich (who is also a Fox News contributor), the Countdown host immediately fired back on Twitter, asking:

Olbermann did moderate a debate of Democratic presidential candidates in August of 2007, but that does not explain Gingrich’s confused salvo, since it doesn’t appear that Olbermann was ever in a position to try “to embarrass and divide Republicans” as Gingrich stated.

So perhaps the lesson here is this: if you’d like to know what Mr. Olbermann will be doing in his show the day before it airs, read Mediaite. Watch the segment from MSNBC below:

Olby, take two aspirin and see your doctor in the morining.

Gordon – I thought you said COlby, not Olby! :-)

Olbermann naming a conservative worst person is not news, it is SOP. And Newt is right, Olbermann is a left wing nutcase, along with his pal the spitter.

We need to take our country back from hostile left wingers who embarrass politicians in Gingrich’s drunken dreams. Isn’t Newt due for another bachelor party?

Colby heart Olby. He’s got it bad. Skip this piece.

newt was probably confused, thinking instead of the silly NBC/MSNBC hosted debates with Williams and Matthews, and Olby’s pre-and post debate coverage and coverage of the Republican convention where Olby made an ass of himself.

NEW YORK (AP) – May 6, 2007 — In an angry commentary on April 25, MSNBC’s Keith Olbermann accused Rudolph Giuliani of using the language of Osama bin Laden with “the same chilling nonchalance of the madman” to argue that Republicans would keep Americans safer than Democrats from terror.

Eight days later, Olbermann hosted MSNBC’s coverage of the first debate among Republican candidates for president.

During Thursday’s Republican presidential debate, which was dominated by questions that sounded like they were made up by liberal bloggers, MSNBC’s Keith Olbermann, known for his many anti-conservative and anti-Bush rants, got to anchor the cable network’s debate coverage. While the MSNBC anchor was relatively more subdued than usual, his anti-Bush bias still shined through as he interviewed several of the Republican candidates and asked them questions displaying his interest in whether the candidates were critical of President Bush. Olbermann also suggested that the Republican candidates appeared “very belligerent and very willing to turn to military solutions, at least keep them on the table on the subject of Iran.” (Transcript follows)

Thursday’s debate occurred just over a week after Olbermann’s “Special Comment” attack on Rudy Giuliani in which he accused the former mayor of “doing bin Laden’s work for him” because Giuliani had argued that a Republican President would protect America more effectively than a Democratic President because a Democrat would “play defense” in the war on terrorism.

In a debate packed with silly questions and ones matching left-wing attack points on GOP candidates, in the first “Interactive Round” of questions submitted by the public on Politico.com, a co-sponsor of the debate, Mitt Romney got the most bizarre.

And because of their pathetic coverage during the convention, which got them dropped.

You have to agree that Gingrich has his facts mixed up.

When doing debate coverage or election coverage, Olbermann doesn’t interview Republicans. He just makes snarky remarks about them after Matthews has interviewed them and they’ve left.

Because of Olbermann’s particular fan base, MSNBC has to keep him hermetically sealed when it comes to icky Republicans.. There’s too big a chance that he might set off a dizzy with blue blog denizens by inadvertently letting a Republican off the hook (in their eyes) or by simply not showing himself to be very knowledgeable when it comes to politics, policy, ideology.

He’s best left up on a pedestal, away from fray, sending down “special comments” from on high.

The very closest that Olbermann may get to a back and forth with a Republican is to get in some tit-for-tat via Twitter. In that medium, he can issue snark attacks, after having blocked them.

The only thing Gingrich has to fear from being on the scene with Olbermann, is the same the thing we all feared when walking out of a junior high classroom– some smart alec might sneer about the style of your sneakers or your book bag.

Olbermann was and IS that guy…

Fact: During a recent appearance on CSPAN’s Washington Journal, presumptive presidential hopeful Newt Gingrich took a shot at MSNBC anchors Keith Olbermann and Chris Matthews.

Fact: Olbermann responded and stated he has never hosted a GOP debate but when he did host as a questioner he didn’t ask liberals any substantive questions but did ask some got-cha questions of the GOP candidates. What an ass Obermann is….

I think you’ve found a new fascination with the word ‘fact’. You are using it indiscriminately and its embarrassing. Get a life.

Fact: Have one thanks for your consern.

That doesn’t make any sense, at all, even with the right spellings.

Newt Gingrich is a voice in the distance and the distance is growing by the day. He doesn’t know it yet but the cliché move over old dog cause the new dogs are here to stay is true. Newt may have noticed lately, when he is a crowd with conversation, when he is talking to another, their eyes are watching someone else. This means no one is listening. Check it out Newt maybe then you will understand it is over.

  • esd2000

Maybe in Newt”s confused mind all liberals look alike.
