Olbermann: Tom Brady Should Get One-Year Suspension Just for ‘Stupidity’
Keith Olbermann yesterday went off on Tom Brady over the NFL report that he was very likely aware of “DeflateGate” and said he should be suspended for a year for “stupidity” alone.
Olbermann said the way Brady handled the scandal over deflated balls from the very beginning just “imploded his reputation” and it would be nice if he just went out there and admitted what he knew so he can hold on to a shred of respect.
He mocked the suggestion from Brady’s agent that this was part of some “sting operation” and had this suggestion for the NFL:
“They should suspend Tom Brady for a year. Suspend him 24 hours for screwing around with the ball inflation. And then suspend him 364 days for stupidity… Then happy Patriots fans and us adults, we’d all join hands and then knock down Paul Revere’s old North Church in Boston and replace it with a 20-story tall statue of Tom Brady squeezing his balls. Because the real ‘Inflategate’ tragedy here is Tom Brady blowing this whole thing up from comparative trivia to the needless destruction of his own reputation.”
