Calling him “the biggest small star in comedy on the web” (sorry, Sassy Gay Friend), Williams took a look at little Marcel’s skyrocketing popularity and his humble origins.

Marcel, for those of you who are SUPER OUT OF IT, is voiced by former SNL cast member Jenny Slate. Perhaps the most unintentionally hilarious/heartbreaking/awkward portion of the segment came when the show decided to linger on Slate’s expression immediately after she dropped an “F-bomb” (Or “fuck,” since we’re all grown ups here. Grown ups who watch online videos about the adventures of a tiny talking shell.) during a sketch about biker chicks. But, were it not for that, she might have never brought us the joy (and book and possibly-maybe-upcoming-TV-series) that comprise the Marcel franchise.

Williams also spoke directly with Marcel, who, it should be known, does not take kindly to “gotcha” questions.
