SC State Senator Rips Martin Bashir: Rick Perry Knows More About World Events Than You Do

video

During a tense exchange about Texas Governor Rick Perry on MSNBC’s Martin Bashir, South Carolina Senator Larry Grooms laid a verbal smackdown on Bashir that left the anchor speechless.

Bashir noted that Grooms publicly switched allegiances to Rick Santorum. “Is this because you came to the conclusion of many that Rick Perry lacks an even a rudimentary understanding of the world?”

“I think he has a pretty good understanding of the world,” Grooms responded.

“You do?” Bashir exclaimed. “He has a good understanding of Turkey as being an important member of NATO? You think he has a good understanding of Pakistan?”

“I think he’s got a better understanding than maybe you,” Grooms shot back.

“Oh!” Bashir exclaimed, stung by the State Senator’s comeback.

Despite Grooms’ pointed comeback, Bashir surprisingly got the interview back on track and asked Grooms about Perry’s Turkey comments.

“I disagree that the government is run by Islamic terrorists,” Grooms explained. “There’s a lot of things that a lot of candidates say that I disagree with. There’s no such thing as a perfect candidate. I’m looking for a conservative to win the White House.”

Turkey under PM Erdogan and FM Davotoglu have embraced Iran, Syria, Hamas in Gaza, have land mined the border with Iraqi Kurdistan, and have repeatedly ordered Turkey’s military to violate the sovereignty of Iraqi Kurdistan in order to add to the Kurdish body count.

The United States Navy can no longer expect safe port visits in NATO “ally” Turkey.

PM Erdogan’s Islamist AKP Party has terrorized Turkey’s journalists and any military officer who does not ‘go along’ – many are in prison.

The only reason Turkey was included in NATO was their geography in the post-WW2 Cold War era, when the Kemalist legacy of secularism was intact.

NATO is a mutual defense treaty.  Erdogan’s Turkey is threatening war with Greek Cyprus (the EU member, not Turkish Cyprus which is still illegally occupied by Turkey) and Israel over their joint offshore natural gas field development.

The question of why Turkey is still in NATO has been quietly discussed since 2010.

Governor Perry is totally knowledgeable about the truth about Turkey.

I did not realize anyone still watched MSNBC, which is an opinion cable channel a few hours per day.

Let’s put Rick Perry in perspective

    NH Primary results
    Rick Perry 1,766 0.7%
    Vermin Supreme           781       1.4%

Vermin Supreme got a higher percentage of votes than Rick Perry, so why isn’t the MSM talking about him

Not “WE”. You are a lemming who follows the democrat party line. There is only one reason to resist Voter ID laws. It gives democrats the ability to attempt to get illegal votes. Face it fraud, obama will never win this election straight up…against anybody. Not without, Acorn spin-offs, registered dead democrats, and illegal immigrants. Give me your intellectually dishonest answer as to why anyone would resist voter ID. And don’t give me the racist garbage. We elected a black president.

  • Anonymous

Right. and we’ve got a “D” student for president right now. Just check his college records. Brilliant. Or you can ask him, or read one of his 2 books. All you know about obama are found in the 2 books he himself wrote. All that the media knows about him are found in those 2 books. What lemmings you democrats are. Obama is who his “narrative” says he is. Go find me something to back up his narrative. Come on peppy. Remember the styrofoam columns at the convention. Remember the fake “presidential” seal, he made for himself even before he’d earned it? Remember the emphasis on his grandma’s Kansas root in the “narrative” video. Gimme a break.
The ignorant comments this pres. has made in his 3 years and during his campaign far exceed anything Bush ever said. And his leadership decisions have been disastrous.
It’s time you took off your rose-colored glasses and saw this man for what his.

It’s funny how people like Martin Bashir are presented as straight news people on the network news stations, but the moment they “come home” to work for far-left M-BS-NBC they let their inner far-left loon out.

If you want to know what the majority of the phony’s at the network “mainstream” news channels think, then just pay attention to Martin Bashir, who is unshackled of the burden of pretending to be non-partisan.

Almost anyone with a functioning brain has caught on to how biased the Brian Williams’, Bob Schieffers and Andrea Mitchells are.

You definitely would love it here in my home state of South Carolina. You might even be overwhelmed to the point of orgasm. I grew up here and I love many things about SC, but the rampant racism, ignorance, and know-nothingness of the people, along with the cupidity of our politicians has reached new heights. When people publicly boo the Golden Rule and cheer racism at a debate, I am just embarrassed to admit I am from here.

  • Anonymous

We (South Carolinians) already tried that once. It didn’t turn out so swell.

  • Anonymous

If you can find 100 confirmed cases of fraudulently-cast votes in the 2008 presidential race (not dipshits trying to put fake names on registrations, ACTUAL cast votes!), which were not found before the election results were announced, then we will say you have won this argument. That’s only 2 votes per state, which would be absurdly insignificant, but I bet you can’t do it.

Please, do show us your degree from Harvard or any other top school. (Ph.D. in nuclear physics from Duke, myself.) Also, please provide a link where we can see any certified academic transcript showing Obama as having a D average or just STFU, OK? In case you didn’t know, D students don’t get into law school at a regional state college, much less Harvard, you putz.

Not all Republicans are KKK members, but the vast majority of KKK members who are registered to vote are registered as Republicans. Good luck finding any who are registered Democrats.

There is a report out this week that over 900 dead people voted in S Carolina last election, and that as many as 9,000 dead voters may still be on the voter rolls, this report from the SC DMV.  During the NH Primary, O’Keef made a video on how he used the names of recently dead voters in NH and was offered a ballot, offered to show ID, poll workers smiled and said no, take the ballot, you don’t need and ID.

but Perry is the biggest clown I’ve ever seen in a national debate, Republican or Democratic

Step 1. Throw money at them.

Step 2. Throw reckless rhetoric at them.

    Step 3. Bomb them.

    Republican Foreign Policy.

  • Hout Bosques

    Both.

And yes people: this is what it looks like to be an elected official in South Carolina. This is why weirdos like Lindsay Graham & total jerkoffs like Jim Demint are considered top drawer statesmen in that deeply, deeply idiotic state.

  • Hout Bosques

Yeah, young girls all look so tasty – let’s see how they look when they’ve grown up & lived a bit, shall we?

  • Hout Bosques

Texans realize the value in a first class yell leader. What other state than Texas is there where bein’ a yell leader can get you a such long way, certainly a lot longer than bein’ able to pass exams to become a vet or any other useless thing like that (okay, South Carolina … Mississippi … Alabama …).

And Texas is great for providin’ opportunities for girls, too – all they has to do is go out for cheer squad an’ if they look good enough in a tiny skirt & got great bazooms, hey, that’s ideal & they can all be successes like Governor Rick … only not governor, cuz they’s girls an’ all, which they can’t really help, but it does make them stupid an’ wrong an’ ugly hores if they run for office an’ all, but that’s just God’s way a doin’ things. But they can be successful in marryin’ a Texan.

  • http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=1190134026 Barry Dalton

    i think you mean “sussexful”

  • Hout Bosques

You should have linked to the report you claim to refer to.

The report I saw is pretty transparently referring to the fact that a number of people who voted in the last election have died SINCE that last election, & that the South Carolina records of registered voters are still in the course of being amended to purge them of the names of voters who died years even decades back.

But YOUR suggestion is that ~900 votes came from people who didn’t exist at the time their votes were accepted, which is something entirely different – and something NOT supported in any report I’ve seen from South Carolina or anywhere.

South Carolina is the place where a corrupt pol being challenged by someone who’d been active in community theater managed to keep his seat by labelling his opponent of being a ‘notorious thespian’.

  • Hout Bosques

If you go to Wikipedia (later – right now they’re in black out in protest of SOPA) & check out Obama, you will see reference to 3 things about his law degree:

    1. it’s from Harvard, among toughest law schools in the country to get into;
    2. he served as president of the Harvard law review – the most prestigious law school review in the country & reserved for only the best of the student body, &
    3. summa cum laude – it means “with high honors”, higher than “with honors”, which means he was easily within the top 10% of his class.

Remember Birthergate? This is Transcriptgate, & it’s going to end up the same way.

Think about this: it’s impossible to believe that the Hillary Clinton campaign AND the McCain campaign AND the RNC AND the Romney campaign ALL failed to vet Obama thoroughly including checking in excrutiating detail his educational record – yet no one – not HIllary, not McCain, not the RNC, not Romney has ever even suggested he had anything other than first class honors at Harvard Law.

I quote your own beloved Dick Cheney: “Everything leaks”.

It’s time you took off your racist blinders & got a look at the real world, replose2012.

  • Hout Bosques

Absolutely true – so long as you substitute “Kennedy Foundation Academic Scholarship” for “Indonesian Government”.

But you wouldn’t know the first thing about academic scholarships, would you, ace? If it ain’ foo’ball, it ain’ a rull scholarship – right?

  • Hout Bosques

So assume the word “different” was in there – so frickin’ WHAT? The guy is still a complete boob.

  • Hout Bosques

I don’t follow your numbers, but it’s true that Vermin Supreme finished second among all the write-in ballots that were cast. He’s the guy who wears a big ol’ gumboot on his head. When I first saw that boot, right there I knew: This guy’s got more substance than Perry.

In fairness, he’s a well-known character in NH, particularly prominent during election time. Plus, since George W. Bush got elected, we can no longer afford to completely discount the possibility that one day there’ll be a State Senator Vermin Supreme. After all, look at State Senator Grooms, & Supreme is way smarter than that doofus.

  • Hout Bosques

Oh for crying out loud … to get that passed required a majority in the House & a majority in the Senate & a president to sign it – just like it says in the Constitution. If a majority in either chamber had opposed it, it wouldn’t have passed, simple as that.

  • Hout Bosques

You idiots can even spell dog whistles: it’s “shrooms”, as in “mushrooms”, not “schrooms”.

(Also, I’m going to be really generous here & not point out that the correct spelling is “chestnut”. Have you even graduated Grade Five yet?)
