Some On CNN Panel Think MSNBC’s Lawrence O’Donnell Attacking NBC Was For Publicity

On Reliable Sources, host Howard Kurtz was eager to praise MSNBC host Lawrence O’Donnell for taking on NBC (his boss) and demanding to know from them what Donald Trump‘s future plans were. However, two journalists on Kurtz’s panel warned him that even if O’Donnell was sincere, his outage could be viewed as a tactic to generate publicity.

Kurtz concluded, “I give O’Donnell credit, it’s not the easiest thing in the world to go on, look into that camera and blast your own network.” Yet Terence Smith argued, “taking on his own network is – I have to admit – also a very good way to draw attention to yourself.” And Chip Reid agreed with Smith that O’Donnell’s tactic is win-win for everyone. O’Donnell can be viewed as courageous for something he feels strongly about, and it earns Trump and NBC more buzz in the process.

Kurtz wondered if his guests were being overly cynical, since he claimed he spoke to O’Donnell when he wasn’t in front of a camera and that O’Donnell felt just as strongly. Yet in today’s environment, where Trump has learned the more he promotes himself and the more fights he starts, the more headlines he gets, it certainly isn’t bad business for a cable news host to attempt to do the same.

This left wingers on the Sunday show praising O’Donnells ridiculous behavior is sort of like the liberal degenerates leading the lberal degenerates. There’s no hope for these losers, non at all.

  • rubberneck

O’Donnell attacks everyone he can for that desperate rating point. His employer, Mormons, insane people he invites on his show. You name it. When client #9 is closing in on you, what do you expect. The guy is a pathetic piece of crap.

O’Donnell was the head cheerleader in the birther story and he should just STFU.

For gawds sake, he pulls what, about 500k bedwetting leftist viewers on a good night and the only other resource he has is Mediaite, does his “courage” really matter to anyone? sheesh..

Right, O’Donnell was spreading the lie that Obama wasn’t born in Hawaii. The delusion here is just stunning. And saying this was a publicity stunt is the stupidest thing I’ve heard yet. Like anything else the real question is was Lawrence right and he most certainly is! Why aren’t reporters or as you idiots call them the “Liberal Media” asking NBC or even Trump why the delay in announcing whether he’s running. This is why the right with a majority believing that Obama wasn’t born here is laughed at and will never be taken seriously. They can’t deal with basic facts. As I’ve said before you don’t need to believe the President was born here. It’s a fact. That’s like saying you don’t believe 1 + 1 is 2. It’s not an act of faith, IT’S A FACT!

Poor dear, if Trump announced he were running before his show was over, NBC would have to give equal time to every other person who has announced they are running.

I don’t know, but if he was first, Chris Matthews was a close runner-up.

He’s not spreading the lie, he’s just keeping the story alive to benefit himelf and his Messiah. Not exactly rocket science.

Watching news shows leave you pretty synical. Pundits spend time trying to one-up each others righteous indignation, stands against right wingers, middle of the roaders and anyone who challenges the President. With so few viewers watching MSNBC it would appear that the pundit with the loudest or most righteous voice gets the most credit for the level of their dismal viewship. Mediaite frequently blows the horn for any MSNBC talking head that leads CNN for position as a distant second to FN’s.

    make that, “cynical”…………..thanks

MessNBC has an avowed socialist in their prime slot, yet this fails to register any mention amongst the leftist panel on CNN. This just goes to show you how much the leftist media embraces Marxism.

Larry O is a clown, doing what clowns do…entertaining us and making us laugh. Larry, ‘ol boy…you keep it up. I think you’re hilarious!
