Tucker Carlson Blasts Joy Reid’s ‘Childish Lie’ About Hacked Blog: ‘You’d Have to Be a Moron To Believe It’

Tucker Carlson opened his show Wednesday night by tearing into Joy Reid and NBC News over their handling of resurfaced homophobic posts from her old blog — which Mediaite reported on earlier this week.

The Fox News host began by blasting the “icon on the progressive left” for her “embarrassing” articles — saying an “honest explanation” that her thoughts have evolved since then would have been fine. Instead, she “lied about it.”

Carlson mocked the claim made by Reid that her blog was hacked retroactively. He joked that “sinister agents” sent by Russian President Vladimir Putin may be responsible.

“It really sounds like an MSNBC segment,” Carlson quipped. “Part of what they run every night.”

He called Reid’s explanation a “total crock” and a “childish lie” that you’d “have to be a moron to believe it.”

Carlson then shifted his attention to her employer, NBC News — which quietly circulated a report from her cyber security analyst Jonathan Nichols “affirms Joy Reid’s ludicrous fantasies.” He accused NBC News executives of “lying” and cited the leak of the Access Hollywood tape and its burying of the Harvey Weinstein scandal.

“Now NBC is helping Joy Reid lie once again and almost nobody else in the media is saying anything about it,” Carlson said.

During a discussion with Boston Herald columnist Michael Graham, Carlson wondered why NBC News would “further besmirch itself” by tying itself to “something so obviously false and stupid” instead of encouraging Reid to own the blog posts.

“Man, I’m not a Joy Reid fan,” Carlson said. “But I would have given her and any honest person a pass if she had been honest, which she’s not.”
