Weird: Rob Lowe Reveals He Was On The Plane The 9/11 Terrorists Used As A Dry Run

As we spend a lot of this week trying to find some closure in the unspeakable tragedy that was 9/11, tons of memories flood back for all Americans, including memories of what might have been. If you talk to enough people, you hear countless stories from those that were saved by a tiny twist of fate; people who worked in the Towers but were late that one day, or had a meeting, or missed their plane by five short minutes. Yesterday, while promoting a new memoir on The View, actor Rob Lowe revealed his chilling brush with history, explaining that he was on a plane that some of the terrorists used as a dry run.

“One of the surprising chapters and stories I only tell my friends, is that I flew with the 911 hijackers on the dry run. Without realizing. I was shooting ‘The West Wing’ in DC at the time and I always took I think it was Flight 93 or 73, the flight that leaves Dulles to Los Angeles that eventually they put into the Pentagon. So, It was 11 days before 9/11, I made the flight a lot and I didn’t think anything of it. I got on the flight and it was packed, small plane. Looked around the cabin, don’t remember anything in particular, nobody looked scary, nobody looked like a terrorist. I do remember that It looked like an absolutely normal flight. Slept most of it and that was it.”

Lowe explained that he knew nothing until a year and a half later when he got a letter from Attorney General of Maryland saying that he may have to come as a witness in the trial of Zacarias Moussaoui. The reason being that had sat on a plane with the terrorists as they practiced their plan.

As we reflect on the death of Osama bin Laden, this is yet another reminder of just how many lives 9/11 affected.

Unless he can produce the plane ticket that verifies this, it’s not true.

Rob Lowe just strikes me as an odd person.

Also, shouldn’t media reports call Osama by his actual name, Usama?

Also, why does every Hollywood celeb feel like they need to write a memoir? Are they that self-indulged? My gosh.

Why do they sell sudoku books? I don’t have the time or motivation to do printed puzzles.
Perhaps it’s because people buy them and everybody wants to make bank..

No – Sudoku takes skill. Reading a book on someone that didn’t lead much of a life, like Rob Lowe, doesn’t take skill. Why in the world you would compare sudoku to a Rob Lowe memoir is just absurd.

James Woods was in the same situation, but he actually noticed it.

I agree we should be calling him by his actual name Tim Osman.

Don’t know what happened on the show WC because I can’t bring myself to watch those screaming banshees but as far as Lowe, he is rather a learned character. Into architecture in a big way. Don’t think I’ll be reading his book but I think he’s a little more than a cardboard cut-out.

So you believe he made up the AG story based on what?

If he can provide proof that he notified the FBI of such a run, then I’d think his story is legit. If not, did he aid and abet?

Negligence is also part of the equation. I don’t know how it would all apply in this situation. But I would think that not telling about something that major would be a big issue.

Nevermind, I take it back. I still think Lowe is nutty, but if he was sleeping, he didn’t have anything significant to add to the trial.

    .
Thanks, Pablo. I can always depend on you for pertinent links.

While reading the story I remembered what your link reveals but for some reason thought it was Gary Senise who was the passenger and contacted the FBI.

Huh? The AG notified HIM that it had happened? I’m guessing the FBI already knew..

Do you not understand what rescinding an argument is? Yeesh.

You never explained why you required him to notify the FBI. I don’t think you read the article.
