Zac Brown Band: Grammys 2010 Best New Artist (With One of the Best Performances)
Here’s a rousing performance by Grammy’s 2010 Best New Artist, the Zac Brown Band, who opened with “America The Beautiful,” setting a patriotic tone. I would say that they actually were a little bit country, a little bit rock n’ roll, and a lot awesome. The patriotism didn’t stop there, though — the medley peformance had running themes of country, service and seeing love in their woman’s eyes. “I thank God for my life, for the Stars and Stripes/May freedom forever fly/Let it ring/Salute the ones who died/The ones who gave their lives/So we don’t have to sacrifice/All the things we love.” If you didn’t know the Zac Brown Band before (ahem), you do now.
That said, this song reminds me a lot of Bonnie Tyler‘s “It’s a heartache, nothin’ but a heartbreak…” Agree? Disagree?
