Jeffree Star Says Rumors of Kanye West Romance Are FALSE: He is ‘Too Short For Me’

Beauty blogger Jeffree Star has once again shut down rumors that he hooked up with Kanye West, this time claiming that the rapper is “too short” for him.

The makeup guru sat down with Dave Portnoy, Josh Richards, and Brianna LaPaglia for Barstool Sports podcast BFFs on Wednesday to set the record straight.

Portnoy asked Star if there was anything he should ask before they concluded, clarifying that he doesn’t like “being soft” when conducting interviews.

“Maybe the Kanye shit?” LaPaglia suggested. “Talk about that. That’s funny.”

“Oh my God … it is funny,” Star responded, before confirming that he “absolutely” did not hook up with West.

LaPaglia then called out Star for feeding into the rumors, likely referring to January 6 tweet:

“I’m ready for Sunday Service,” Star wrote, referencing West’s Sunday Service Choir.

YouTube personality Keemstar also posted a text conversation between him and Star, in which the makeup blogger very much failed to deny the romance rumors.

Keemstar, whose given name is Daniel Keem, also pointed to a lyric from Star’s song “Bitch, Please!” — which says, And 3OH!3 warned me not to trust you hoes/Sucked off Kanye West, now I’m one of the bros.”

The lyric, however, is part of a larger verse that includes references tied to several mid-2000s celebrities, stripping some significance from West’s name.

While on the podcast, Star admitted to having fun with the rumors for a bit before releasing how big they would get, adding, “So, imagine you just wake up and there is a text from your mom, ‘Are you fucking — is he fucking you?”

“I was like, huh? Mom wash your mouth!” Star cracked, adding that the text prompted him to go on Twitter, which is how he discovered how quickly the fake news spread.

“He’s too short for me, I’m not into that,” Star continued, prompting Portnoy to request that nobody “short shame around here.”

So how on earth did these rumors start?

In January, Page Six reported news of West’s impending divorce from Kim Kardashian, claiming she was “done” with the marriage, which sent West to Wyoming “so they could live separate lives.”

TikTok user Ava Louise — who was launched to fame after posting a video of herself licking a toilet seat amid the pandemic — later posted a since-deleted video to the platform, claiming that she was keeping gossip on West “for months” and that his split from Kardashian came as “no surprise,” as he had been “hooking up with a very famous beauty guru, male beauty guru.”

“A lot of people in the scene have known for a while,” Louise added.

The video sparked a slew of others on TikTok, in which users attempted to connect evidently unrelated dots to prove the rumor:

@pattypopcultureReply to @poopoopugsy These new rumors may have more to them than you think. They are unconfirmed rumors tho. Absolutely nothing is confirmed.♬ dear katara – L.Dre

Louise later admitted that she “made this entire scandal up,” adding, “There is literally not one bit of truth to anything I have said.”

“I just tricked the entire world into talking about me again because I was on a lot of Adderall and bored. And that’s on being an icon,” she said, turning the camera to herself. “We all had fun though, didn’t we? You’re welcome for the memes.”
