Liz Cheney’s Brutal Criticism of Elise Stefanik Is Very Personal, Argues Farah Griffin: ‘She Was a Mentor of Hers’

The co-hosts of The View tore into Rep. Elise Stefanik (R-NY) on Monday after the Trump loyalist deleted her past press releases on January 6th and was called out online by former Rep. Liz Cheney (R-WY).

As the co-hosts went around weighing in on Stefanik and the trajectory she has taken from moderate New York Republican to MAGA diehard, former GOP consultant Ana Navarro pulled in no punches in roasting her recent behavior.

Stefanik has been “taking a lot of credit and giving herself a lot of pats on the back for the resignation of Claudine Gay at Harvard,” Navarro said, adding:

For not being clear, for not answering well on the anti-Semitic issues in a hearing in Congress. I can’t think of anything more anti-Semitic and more offensive than comparing the traitors from January 6th to hostages after what we have seen since October 7th! And you know what we’ve learned about what being a hostage is like.

“I keep on asking Alyssa, because, you know these people and you’ve been in this administration, like, what is her endgame? Because now she does look like a total crackpot,” continued Sunny Hostin.

“I also would like to give props to Liz Cheney for keeping a receipt for three years. I mean, Elise Stefanik If you look at her website now, it says this. It says that that statement was replaced with, ‘The page you have requested does not exist or is undergoing routine maintenance,’” Hostin added.

“So she actually took the statement down,” interjected former Trump aide Alyssa Farah Griffin.

“And then Cheney comes in and is like, is this you? So I love that about her. But what is Elisa’s like, endgame? You said you don’t think she’s going to be the VP,” Hostin asked Farah Griffin.

“She’d still like to be. I just think she’s small potatoes. She’s a House member. And even as sycophantic as she’s being he’s going to pick someone else,” Farah Griffin replied.

“So why is she doing it?” pressed Hostin.

“She wants something else, maybe she wants perpetual relevance and maybe power in a Trump administration. But here’s what’s really just the chef’s kiss about this. Elise Stefanik used to look up to Liz Cheney,” Farah Griffin replied, adding:

She was a mentor of hers. This is someone she admired and aspired to be like. And when Liz Cheney was one of the few people who had a backbone and did the right thing, Elise Stefanik went completely the other way. And I know there is going to be a day, her disgrace will remain, she is going to remember who she actually was, what she actually believed in, and none of it was worth it.

“Well, it will be too late, because if once Trump finally goes away and is out, that base left behind in DC, those types of minded people are going to be held accountable and she won’t be back,” added Sara Haines.

“Yeah, it’s hard to figure out who wins the contest, though, of sucking up between Tim Scott and Elise Stefanik, who’s sucking up the most,” concluded Navarro.

“It’s like a like a limbo line. They’re just all doing the limbo and trying to get under,” joked Whoopi Goldberg.

“How low can you go?” shot back Navarro to laughter.
