Beloved actress Betty White passed away at 99 on Friday, weeks before her 100th birthday. White was a uniting figure in American society, known for her sporting sense of humor and legendary acting career.

White was born on January 17, 1922 and had a film and television career dating back to the 1940s. Her most famous role was that of Rose Nylund on the hit show Golden Girls. She also played TV hostess Sue Anne Nivens on The Mary Tyler Moore Show. White won seven Emmy Awards over her illustrious career.
