FBI Deputy Director Dan Bongino Brutally Mocked For Going on Television to Complain About How Hard His Job Is
FBI Deputy Director Dan Bongino received a heavy dose of criticism on Thursday after he complained on Fox News about just how difficult his current role is.
“I was at one of our facilities yesterday down in Winchester, and a woman who worked there — very nice — said, ‘I used to watch your show. I miss you.’ I said, ‘I miss me, too.’ Part of you dies a little bit when you see all this stuff from behind the scenes,” Bogino told the host of Fox & Friends before launching into even more detail about his struggles.
“I don’t know what people think me and Kash [Patel] are doing all day. I mean, I gave up everything for this. I mean, my wife is struggling — and I’m not a victim. I’m not Jim Comey. It’s fine. I did this and I’m proud that I did it,” said the former Fox host and podcaster, adding:
But if you think we’re there for tea and crumpets, well, I mean, Kash is there all day… Our offices are linked. He turns on the faucet, I hear it… He gets in at like 6 o’clock in the morning. He doesn’t leave until 7 at night. I’m in there at 7:30 in the morning. He uses the gym. I work out in my apartment.
But I stare at these four walls all day in D.C., by myself, divorced from my wife — not divorced, but I mean separated, divorced — and it’s hard. I mean, we love each other and it’s hard to be apart.
Critics were quick to pounce on Bongino’s comments, which also drew some reassurance from Fox host Brian Kilmeade, who told him, “You are doing great work.”
Political commentator and journalist Amanda Carpenter shared the clip and added, “He gave up a podcast and has been on the job for a few weeks. There are many qualified people who will gladly and expertly fill this job if Bongino can’t handle it.”
The Bulwar’s Tim Miller commented, “Congrats to Deputy Dan for being the first fedboi to cry about work life balance on cable news.”
