Anthony Bourdain’s Travel Advice: Avoid Unsanitary Panini Express At JFK Airport
Somewhere, in some airport in New York City (specifically John F. Kennedy Airport), is a disgusting old woman with ringworm, making paninis that you put in your mouth. How do we know this? Because Anthony Bourdain told us, that’s why. As he jets off to Myanmar to film the first episode of Parts Unknown (and maaaaaaybe hang with Aung San Suu Kyi?), he tweeted the following public service announcements:
Lady at airport panini counter rubs ointment into skin rash, stirs food, makes panini, gives change . #nice!

Amazing. Counting the health code violations at the airport panini place–any two of which would close a NYC resto. Up to 30 now.

Just asked airport panini lady if her ringworm felt better after the ointment.

I have to say, Since the counter lady at airport panini counter rubbed ointment into rash, there are fewer skin flakes in gelato.

When you say “Panini ‘Express'” does this imply you’ll have to run real fast to the bathroom?

Since we know that many people are traveling this holiday season, you heard it from a reputable source: don’t go to Panini Express at JFK’s Terminal 1 this weekend. Or, really, any weekend.
