Eric Ripert Sparks Sauce Blaze, Anthony Bourdain Couldn’t Care Less

Sigh. We could not be less surprised that this is what happens when Eric Ripert, Anthony Bourdain, and beers get together in The Hamptons. Stove-tops are bound to go up in flames.

The couple was hangin’ in the Hamps at writer Jay McInerney’s house, and Eric was evidently the designated saucier for the evening’s meal of steak au poivre. While saucing it up, he caused an impressive pan blaze of which Jay managed to snap a photo and throw up on Twitter (so all parties survived, and it looks like Eric was even standing far enough away to avoid the dreaded eyebrow singe).

The best part of this picture, hands down, is Tony standing in the background, unfazed, hand on hip, other hand clutching beer (Corona, we think?), looking on as his bromantic other half lights things on fire. Whatev. No biggie. Hey, Jay, you got a lime?
