WATCH: Jose Andres Is Super Excited About These Paletas!

Maybe it’s because his birthday is tomorrow. Maybe he sampled one too many mojito pops before the show. Whatever the reason, Jose Andres is really excited about making paletas on The Today Show. He can’t contain himself. He’s on a mission to host the most enthusiastic cooking segment that any morning news show has ever seen.

Jose is a man who clearly enjoys his own recipes. “People of America, we have an amazing paleta!” he declares after making a mango and chili version. He barely hands it to Matt Lauer, choosing instead to mostly shove it towards his mouth. Come on, Matt! Jose wants everyone to try it right this second. Look, here’s another awesome one. Don’t worry about finishing the first one; eat this one too. Isn’t it amazing? Isn’t everyone having fun?

Matt, on the other hand, is not particularly thrilled about this cooking segment. He just wants a drink, and so loses interest in anything that doesn’t involve the world “rum”. But that’s okay. Jose has more than enough enthusiasm for the both of them.
