While shows like Top Chef, The Taste, and Worst Cooks in America have brought real-life cooks (or wannabes) to the point of media saturation, a large segment of the cooking population has been all but forgotten. Who are they? The ones that aren’t real.

Whether it’s an icon of home-cooking being bastardized by SNL, or a plushy puppet that we’re sure can’t cook worth a damn, there are too many film and TV cooks out there masquerading as the real deal.
