Fox News Host Rages at Mamandi Win: ‘I Look Forward to Him Totally Failing’
Fox News host Emily Compagno went off on Zohran Mamdani and the “sedated” New Yorkers who voted for him, with Compagno saying the next mayor of New York City is not only a communist and an anti-semite but also a “chameleon” who said and did whatever he needed to in order to win.
Compagno’s all guns blazing rant was on Wednesday afternoon’s episode of Outnumbered. It came a moment after Marie Harf, a Fox News contributor, shared she “liked” that Mamdani was an immigrant who was now representing a “city of immigrants.” Compagno said she did not care about that because his ideas are so bad.
“I don’t care who he is. He’s a blatant antisemite, whose never had a job in his life, who enjoys a royal wedding in Uganda, who lives in a Chelsea multi-million dollar apartment thanks to the hard work of people he knows nothing about,” Compagno started off by saying.
Harf then jumped in to ask, “Why do you think New Yorkers voted for him? I’m actually curious.”
Compagno said it is because he ran a slick campaign that was smart about using TikTok and other social media apps.
“The million people who voted for him were because he was viral, clearly,” Compagno said. “All of them all sedated and seduced by the clickbait that he is.”
Compagno said Mamdani’s “cheesy smile” and social stunts won over gullible voters. She then said Mamdani, during his victory speech, showed his true radical colors by quoting one of the co-founders of the American Socialist Party, Eugene Debs.
“Of course, he’s going to quote Eugene Debs out of the gate. Of course, he’s going to start shouting out of the gate,” Compagno said. “Because what we have seen over his campaign was a chameleon. We have anecdotal people who went to college with him that said, ‘Yeah, he was a drinking bro.’ He did whatever it was to be popular. And now his insides are coming out.”
The 34-year-old democratic socialist campaigned on ideas like freezing the rent, city-owned grocery stores, and free bus rides. He also recently told Fox News that he would “exhaust every legal option” to arrest Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu if he sets foot in NYC.
Mamdani won the election on Tuesday night with 1.04 million votes, while Andrew Cuomo (D) received 854,995, and Republican Curtis Sliwa received 146,137 votes.
“I consider him an absolute joke, and I look forward to him totally failing,” Compagno added. “But I am horrified by his policies and his communism and his anti-semitism spreading even further across this rot.”
