Rudy Giuliani announced on X Friday that he was “FIRED” from his WABC radio show for refusing to stop talking about the 2020 election, which Donald Trump lost to Joe Biden.
“I was just FIRED by John Catsimatidis and @77WABCradio because I refused to stop talking about the 2020 U.S. Presidential Election,” Giuliani wrote on X.
The New York Times reported that WABC suspended Giuliani and canceled his daily talk show for violating company policy “by trying to discuss discredited claims about the 2020 presidential election on air.”
On Thursday’s show, Giuliani was railing against the suspension of his law license for pushing the false claim the election was stolen from Trump, which the former president and allies like Giuliani continue to push despite the total lack of evidence.
“He was midsentence when employees in the control room cut him off,” The Times reported.
Catsimatidis is the billionaire Republican businessman who owns WABC. He gave a brief statement to The Times on Friday:
“We’re not going to talk about fallacies of the November 2020 election,” Mr. Catsimatidis said in a brief phone interview. “We warned him once. We warned him twice. And I get a text from him last night, and I get a text from him this morning that he refuses not to talk about it.”
“So,” Mr. Catsimatidis continued, “he left me no option. I suspended him.”
Real America’s Voice posted a clip of Giuliani speaking about the election on his show.
“I talked about the 2020 elections from the day I realized they were fixed until now, and I have talked about it on that station I would say 1,000 times,” Giuliani said. “They now tell me there was a policy that I wasn’t allowed to talk about the 2020 elections. I never heard about the policy until yesterday.”
This is Why WABC Fired Rudy Giuliani?
WABC has fired @RudyGiuliani, host of the No. 1 show on Sunday mornings, apparently because he talked about the 2020 election. “I talked about the 2020 elections from the day I realized they were fixed until now, and I have talked about it… pic.twitter.com/P7iWOcDhx3

Giuliani served as Donald Trump’s personal lawyer, and was a major figure in trying to have the 2020 election results overturned.
The Times reported that the loss of the radio show could prove financially troublesome for the former mayor of New York:
Mr. Guiliani’s removal from WABC, one of his only current sources of income, could add to the legal and financial woes that have mounted for him since then. The suspension will also deny him one of his last mainstream public platforms.
Mr. Giuliani has been criminally charged in two states, Georgia and Arizona, for this role in the effort to overturn the 2020 results and has been implicated in a number of recent lawsuits. He has also been besieged by creditors, including two Georgia election workers whom he defamed in the aftermath of the 2020 election, and to whom he now owes $148 million.
