Alina Habba Says Hush Money Jury Should’ve Been Sequestered Because They Might Hang Out With Friends Who Have ‘Trump Derangement Syndrome’
Alina Habba, legal spokesperson for former President Donald Trump, conjured up a wild argument on why jury in the ex-president’s New York criminal trial should have been sequestered.
Speaking with guest host Sean Duffy on Fox News’ Sunday Morning Futures, Habba said the jury — which will hear closing arguments in the case Tuesday and deliberate shortly thereafter — ought to have been sequestered over the holiday weekend because they may be exposed to friends and family who have “Trump derangement syndrome.”
“They should have been sequestered because, in my opinion, these jurors are handling something that is completely unprecedented and unwarranted in America,” Habba said. “And for them to be able to be out and about on a holiday weekend with friends and families who have opinions, who are watching the news, TVs on the background at the pool party. I have serious concerns if they’re Left-wing and they’re watching MSDNC, as my client calls it, or CNN. They’re not going to get fair news.”
Habba went on to voice her concern about those MSNBC pool parties translating to Guilty votes in the jury room next week.
“I have worries about them going back to whatever friends might have Trump Derangement Syndrome — forgetting all sense of reality — and coming back and sitting in that box and saying, ‘You know what? I’ve got to take one for the DNC.'”
Duffy, for his part, painted a different picture of how the jurors might have spent their week-long break.
“Those jurors were probably interacting with those same Left -wingers,” Duffy said. “They got to see Donald Trump in the Bronx, and all the love and support he got from communities that you normally don’t see with Donald Trump.”
