Biden Gives Iran Unequivocal Warning Amid Israel-Hamas War: ‘Be Careful’
President Joe Biden on Wednesday warned Iran to “be careful” as the Israel-Hamas war continues into a fifth day after Hamas’s devastating attack on the south of Israel, which left some 1,200 dead – mostly civilians.
Biden spoke to a roundtable of Jewish community leaders and said that with a large deployment of U.S. military assets to the region, his administration “made it clear to the Iranians: Be careful.”
“I’ve been on the phone around the clock with our friends around the world quite frequently, discussing what’s going on in Israel,” Biden said in his remarks, adding:
And in this moment of grief, for those who are grieving as well. And you read this weekend in synagogue, the Torah teaches us that God made stars to, quote, give light on the earth and separate light from darkness. Give light on the earth to separate light from darkness. You know, it’s been hard to find that light during the darkness of these past few days when terrorist groups like Hamas brought not only terror, sheer evil, sheer evil to the world, evil that echoes worse and matches in some cases exceeds the worst atrocities of ISIS. More than 1000 civilians slaughtered in Israel.
Turning to Iran, Biden said, “You know, I spoke with Prime Minister Netanyahu for I don’t know how many times, but again, this morning, and already we’re surging additional military assistance to the Israeli Defense Force, including ammunition interceptors, to replenish Iron Dome.”
“And we moved the U.S. carrier fleet to the Eastern Mediterranean, are sending more fighter jets there in that region and made it clear be clear to the Iranians. Be careful. We want to make it real clear we’re working on every aspect of the hostage crisis in Israel, including deploying experts to advise and assist with recovery efforts now,” he concluded.
