Trump Announces US Bombing of Iran Nuke Facilities

 

President Donald Trump announced via social media that the United States has “completed” a “very successful attack on the three Nuclear sites in Iran, including Fordow, Natanz, and Esfahan.”

Trump wrote on Truth Social:

We have completed our very successful attack on the three Nuclear sites in Iran, including Fordow, Natanz, and Esfahan. All planes are now outside of Iran air space. A full payload of BOMBS was dropped on the primary site, Fordow. All planes are safely on their way home. Congratulations to our great American Warriors. There is not another military in the World that could have done this. NOW IS THE TIME FOR PEACE!Thank you for your attention to this.

The announcement from Trump marks the first time the United States has bombed Iran since the latest conflict between Israel and Iran started. The White House during a Thursday press conference that it would be decided in two weeks whether the United States would strike Iran. Former advisor Steve Bannon appeared to reveal some development in not-so-subtle comments Saturday morning that “the party was on.”

The United States wading into the conflict between Israel and Iran is a major development both in terms of foreign policy and a raging debate within Trump’s base between pro-Israel interventionists and America First isolationists.

Within minutes of Trump announcing the attack on Truth Social, the social media platform suffered significant outages, particularly on its desktop application. Trump also posted information about the success of the attack later, citing an account called “Open Source Intel” that announced, “Fordow is gone.”

White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt announced that Trump will address the nation Saturday night at 10 p.m., just two hours after announcing the bombing.
