Camera Catches Mike Johnson Admitting Trump’s AI Attack ‘Wasn’t My Style’ as Democrat Goes Off on Him

Rep. Madeleine Dean (D-PA) grilled House Speaker Mike Johnson (R-LA) on Capitol Hill this week over a social media post from President Donald Trump featuring an AI-generated deepfake of House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries (D-NY) and Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY).

In the clip, Mariachi music played in the background while Jeffries was shown with a sombrero and handlebar mustache. The clip was widely condemned as race-baiting. In the artificial clip, Schumer is also shown saying that Democrats “have no voters left because of our woke, trans bullsh*t” and that “if we give all these illegal aliens free healthcare, we might be able to get ‘em on our side so they can vote for us.” Trump later shared a second clip of Jeffries in a sombrero.

Several congressional reporters were present for Dean’s dressing down of Johnson over Trump’s post and shared the clip online on Tuesday night.

“How about the tweet last night with Hakeem and Schumer?” Dean can be heard saying.

“I think it wasn’t my style,” Johnson replied.

“Not your style? It’s disgraceful. It’s [inaudible]. It’s racist. You should call it out!” Dean insisted as Johnson replied, but his audio could not be heard.

“Is it racist? You put a sombrero on a Black man who’s the leader of the House. You don’t see that as racist? We need you desperately to lead,” Dean then said to Johnson.

“I’m working on it. It’s not personal. I love you, and I respect you,” Johnson said, moving to walk away.

“That’s why I am talking to you. That’s why I am talking to you. You have a great opportunity to lead,” Dean insisted as Johnson politely left.
